oh man, its getting even worse than legion.. they can't stop pruning and make this game even worse... no more "gust of wind", yeah i'm so happy about earth shield on elemental, yeah so happy... now i can stand in the middle of the arena like an shadowpriest and get kicked on every cast, but hey i have earthshield and can press flameshock every 6 seconds, and maybe flameshock doesn't get dispelled so i have a instant cast every 30seconds. i know its alpha... but i've lost my hopes in the last 2 xpacs, the class design team is just bad.

@echoes sorry but that will never happen, i don't play on low mmr, but i can see why you have fun with the game :) little casual /2 spammer. @joe , thats why i'm saying its an alpha, but i wasn't happy with the artifact traits and i don't think its fun to need extra armor or artifact power to be viable, i just hate the pruning they're doing again. i want the game to be fun and enjoyable, i want to see different playstyles in high rating, besides movement and target choice, i wanna have more outplaymechanic's etc. there are so much things missing and thats why the pvp participation is so low. its just not fun for the most players.

The thing that hurts me the most is the fact that flame shock has a cool down. It was so fun running into an RBG and dotting everyone up for the insane amount of lava burst procs. It took time to build up, but was rewarding and fun.

Hey Michael Hogman so i main an elemental shaman and you said "why would a shaman use seismic armor". Here is why, in some cases a boss has a 1 shot mechanic in highers keys having a flat 20 percent dmg reduction whenever is really handy and nice which makes it competitive. Also good for pvp I take it.

Great vid, you always represent during these curious times for classes before an expansion. My opinion is it looks ok , a bit slower but also gear , level , and Azerite armor should help with that . I don’t like the competing talents on the elemental blast tier . I actually liked the feel I saw of you killing mobs , a little less machine gun but a bit more slower rhythm which I like as long as it’s not pruning/dumbing down the spec. A bit of a stretch but I play arms warrior which the tempo reminded me of and I personally like a more setup style rotation . Core theme of an Ele Sham in my opinion is fairly good upfront dps and cd related burst aoe when needed which I like. Just don’t make us too much of a setup why I don’t play shadow priest. And lastly ... Blizzard , do what you must but please don’t take away my gust of wind. It fits the theme of an ele sham, a much needed mobility , and overall just a lot of fun to use , esp. in world content (there’s a cliff np, I’ll leap off and gust at the bottom) , it just adds so much to the class for me I would be really sad to see it go, and makes me possibly question what my main will be cuz I just can’t play low mobility classes , I’m fine with lower mobility than others , just not dk,priest,lock levels of low.

Also to clarify, I think ele is in a good place right now I don’t understand why they (at least initially) feel the need to change it so much. Honestly after the first alpha build feeling like they were ruining the class we can only go up from there’s lol. The initial alpha build didn’t give me an idea though. I think they were trying to synergize lightning spells and earthquake ... which is a cool idea but they went about it all wrong... how about a talent that does something like this “after casting earthquake every target hit by chain lightning increases the duration of earthquake by .5seconds , capping at some number”

Surprisingly, I think you could use Earthquake as a PvP ability @Hogman. Imagine a scenario where you are facing off against an enemy caster like a Destro Lock or someone else without a lot of mobility. You can use it to nerf Chaos Bolt or make them move etc. Either they cancel their hard-casted nuke or it deals 20% less damage. Only scenario I could think of idk. It should just make the mob do 20% less damage in general but that might be too strong. Good vid!

They are taking massive shits on ele shamans, but not just any type of shit, the shit you take after eating a bowl of corn. A corn encrusted shit...these changes are horrible. Why is echo of the elements competing with ice fury? And ascendance needs to be baseline like it was during MOP. I will not even bother pvping as elemental.

... and since there is no spirit walker's grace, ascendance means you just stand still and cast. At least nearly every spec in the game doesn't have an ability which interrupts casting, locks you out of a school of magic, and would cause you to waste a good deal of it.... oh, wait.

Natures Guradian and Ancestral Guidance both exist in legion. Ancestral Guidance competes with Gust of Wind, and Nature's Guardain is an Artifact talent.

Have you not considered pairing totem mastery, elemental blast, storm elemental, high voltage, and stormkeeper for a disgusting amount of chain lightning burst? Also why do you not think seismic armor is good? you could effectively go into ghost wolf with spirit wolf on top of your earthquake and have a 40% damage reduction vs melee for the duration without blowing a single defensive cd? smokebomb cleave about to open on you? jk im in ghostwolf on an earthquake

Yo Hogman, please change the settings on your mic to be less sensitive to your position in relation to it. It's kind of annoying to have your voice travel between the left and right speaker on headphones.^^ It'd be much more relaxing if it sounded like you always speak from the same place, even if it might be a bit quieter at times when you move away from the mic. You should have it even with normal speakers, but with speakers it wouldn't be so hard on the ears. IF you don't have his voice travelling at all, you might be using mono audio.

Overall the elemental shaman changes are very nice. The rotation looks fluid and fun. Double procs of lb or cl. Aoe cleave is going to be super awesome with CL + EQ (aftershock procs).. Looking very promising in pve atleast.

Coming from only playing melee and mage I thought leveling and playing and Elemental look so fun with all their schools of magic and animations bloodlust totems ghostwolf Etc but then I found that the class doesn't scale well at all end are extremely squishy, enhancement although all so squishy at least has very satisfying play style just being a Elemental melee Viking I hope and enhance stays true in BFA

Spirit Wolf = 20% less damage done to you. Seismic Armor, drop it on yourself when you have melee on you, then drop into Ghost wolf. This equals -40% damage taken after 4 seconds in Ghostwolf. Depending on how long Earthquake lasts, it may be very good for surviving melee burst in 3v3.

True, but lots of other classes could simply use a defensive CD instead of wasting most of your resource and/or not being able to do anything. It's like a worse version of dispersion that can't be cast while stunned.

Seismic armor, though boring, is potentially super strong in my opinion. I don't agree with you on it never seeing play because I would run it myself against any melee cleave, and probably most comps with a melee that just wants to train me forever. The fact that they got rid of Gust of Wind means Shamans are going to be focused a lot more and are going to have way less room to kite. Putting an EQ on top of yourself was the best way to ruin melee cleave's day, and it is potentially more oppressive now with Seismic Armor.

Seismic Armor could be good if it works on bosses. And can be good in mythic+. If it works on bosses I could have been pushing CoS tyrannical keys above 19. Now there is no way I'll survive on the last boss at 20+. Also in dungeons like NL with pelters, Hyrja aoe+arc lightning and so on. It would probably be the go-to talent if it works on bosses. If not, it's kinda meh.

Hope they swap molten fury back out for the previous talent that let lava bursts spread flame shock to other targets, otherwise elemental is looking like total aids in my opinion. If they don't swap that back out, rest in peace my shaman because I don't find resto or enhance fun enough to redeem the class. If they do bring back the previous talent I mentioned, I hope they fix it because that shit was broken like 90% of the time. (Usually if I bursted the target with my original flame shock on it then bursted the victim of a spread version of my shock, it didn't spread further unless I manually recast flame shock. Some of the most obnoxious shit ever that made an awesome talent a headache to use, almost a deal breaker, even.

They removed Havoc aoe stun because of "not all classes should have an aoe stun" yet they gave the stun BASELINE to shamans, warlocks etc. I can't understand shit. An aoe dissorient that brakes on damage is a horrible idea for a melee dps class. Keep the dissorient if you want.. but add a 3 second aoe silience after the effects brakes of something.

Earth bind and frost shock apply 50% movement speed debuff right? It's a tool to kite mobs, right? So my question was, what is the point on wasting globals to slow mobs, when you can't kite because you have to stand to cast anyways. I don't play wow anymore, i started in mid MoP and left early Legion because i was just done with the elitism of players and the community, but as a MoP shaman...man...is this sad. Shamans seem so...not fun. Last time i played, they were garbage and i switched to destrolock which, played somewhat similar, building a resource to spend on a big spell THAT COULD ALSO CLEAVE with the havoc spell... What do eleshams have going for them? Oh they're tankier now? Great! Just means they take longer to die :P

i think the class is very interactive actually. Unlike allot of other casters you don't just stand there and turrent dots, and an aoe spell alone. You really have to use allot of diff spells to play right. I like it. And actually it seems more refined so far. I like how the lava burst procs seem to happen more The Eartchquake armor is actually a big deal. For leveling and world content this is HUGE. Farming will never have been easier. And I know they'll buff the earth shield. it's too bad it'll be removed, along with the Earthquake talent.
