New Empire Battle Force, Tempest Force!

The rich just keep getting richer.... Atomic Mass Games just announced another Battle Force for the Imperials... Tempest Force! This goes along with the forth coming Ewok expansion and the 40th anniversary of RoTJ.

I’m trying out tempest force this weekend. Major, at-st with Elite Armor, Twin Blaster, Grenade Launcher and 88 Cannon. 3 scouts with E Transponders. One Stormtrooper with R4 Droid and Recon. Also 3 Bikes Necked. I’ll have to see how this works at 9 act 799 and the other list is 2 scouts with 2 storms at 798 but the stormtroopers wouldn’t have recon.

Let us know how it goes! I have moved to 3 x AT-ST with Scouts and Storms to get more objective.. flexible.. units on the table... But bikes and AT-ST sounds fun!

With Tempest Force, don't you want to control what Objective cards are played? With some of the cards, you have to Claim or Repair items, which you can't do with vehicles. In that 800 point list, you are probably going to lose the bid, and if Repair the Vaporators is played, you only have 4 units to do this. 3 of those units roll white defense dice, so if they get picked off early, your only chance at winning is to clear the board.

I see your point.. to a degree... With either of those lists I feel like you are playing to wipe the board, not play the objectives. As you call out it is thin on trooper units, but I think that is going to be the case if you put 600 points into 3 x AT-ST. (I would need to play with it some more to veriy that).. To play more of an objective game I would probably drop one AT-ST and pick up more special forces units to I can get the claim/repair keywords.

Im trying a tempest list today. I only took 1 walker, 3 bikes, 2 scouts, 3 stormtroopers and 1 officer. I was gonna take 2 walkers but like being a bit unconventional.

That will be a fun list! The 3 x AT-ST is the.. shock.. of the list.. but there are definitely other ways, I think, you can build something out and A) Have fun with it and B)Make it competitive, if that is your thing as well... Report back on how it goes!

@langerslegion Well the bikes worked well. But I think the sweet spot is 3 bikes and 2 ATST.

Thanks for the update! I can see that being.. nasty.. AT-ST taking the attention and then flanking with bikes.
