Oil pressure pushes the tensioner out; however the ratcheting mechanism should hold the tensioner from going back in. That's how it works.

The brown tarnish is from synthetic motor oil. Synthetic will do that if it's constantly driven on short trips and not longer commutes. Doesn't get up to temperature.

I love this. I just finished a 5 month-long project of swapping a bk1 genny 2.0 engine into a blown auction genesis. the original motor was completely blown and I drove 3 hours to pull an engine out of a 2011 genesis and swapping into mine. working on getting it tuned now. excited to see what you do with it!

I used the Hoover Spotless upholstery shampooer for car interior carpets and a steam cleaner to clean the headliner and all filth and all odors gone. Try it, I highly recommend.

Heck yeah I my Hyundai! I jumped from a 2012 Veloster NA then to 2019 Veloster turbo tuned by lap3 then traded that in for 2022 Hyundai Elantra N. I loved everyone of them but especially my Elantra N. Good tuning companies for Hyundai is N75 Motorsport based out of Canada, lap3 usa, and tork motor sports! My Elantra N is gonna get tuned here by tork due to me living closer to them only 3 hours away!

From my understanding, you’re saying that you can push in oil fed tensioners but I had a 06 cobalt ss with a oil fed tensioner and even tho it was oil fed, you still could not push the tensioner in. Had to disassemble to reset the tension.

Yo I love my genesis man, you’ll have a fun car if you tune it up, look up alphaspeed for tunes and make you have an afr gauge cause these things like to go lean when you’re pushing a lot of power up top! You’ll need a different o2 housing off the turbo to hit peak boost out of the turbo ditch the cat!

Never spread the RTV sealer with your finger. You can introduce dirt into it causing a leak. Just put the bead on and squish it on

What a great video. I have a Genesis coupe 2.0t BK1 I’ve got some issues with mine but I’m getting it looked at and fixed Monday. I have white smoke coming out my exhaust when I let off. Then I have a check engine light for crankshaft position correlation or something. I’ve replaced that sensor and my 2 camshaft position sensors and still same issue. So I’m thinking the timing could be off. Then I’m going to replace my transmission oil cooler and relocate it becuase the mishimoto intercooler and pipes make the stock one not fit so it fell off and it poorer oil or trans fluid everywhere. But hey I’m a mechanic and I love working on cars even though they give me headaches sometimes. 😂

That motor is basically the same from an evo7-9, so you should technically be able to buy an upgraded turbo for the an evo and bolt it on and see idf you find an upgraded intake manifold

The bk2 makes 275hp stock, my brother had one tuned that made around 320, was a lot of fun, not sure the differences between them but im glad ur gunna build the stock engine!
