So I held my breath when you pulled out that beautiful board-n-batten but I love love the new wall accent much better because it is to scale for such a high wall. Great job. It also allows you to hang something on the wall without the shorter top board getting in the way.

It was a great decision. It looks sophisticated. I just did picture moulding in my dining room. I spent 10 years trying to find the perfect art piece and just did not like anything. I decided to do moulding and procrastinated for 3 mos. Finally got it up and I love it!!! It is beautiful all on its own. No artwork needed.

Ahh, the joys of home projects! We just hung a family picture gallery, we measured placement out on the floor and took a picture and noted the spacing of the hangers between each frame (we flipped the frames over in their place and measured from hanger to hanger up/down and side to side). Then we measured from the ceiling down and floor up and marked everything with a level on the wall. Well. We did not figure in the uneven ceiling and wall (85 year old home with everything original and settled) and our gallery was crooked! So we had to take all the frames off, readjust the measurements and leveling and reset all the nails after patching and painting the holes. Command strips do not work on our walls because of the heavily textured original plaster walls, too many air pockets to allow a good stick with the strips. You entry way looks amazing!

I think you did a great job. I had a friend who skim coated all of my living room walls. It originally had wallpaper on it and when we peeled it off it left some divots on the wall and then a friend of ours who was a professional painter and he skim coated all the walls and then he sanded it down and he did a beautiful job. So, skim coating was a good idea for you. We repainted the walls a few years ago and it was a smooth job. The paint job is nice I really don't like the shadowbox look or the board and batting look I like a plain wall look. Its all what you like. I like the end result the 3 on top and the bottom one bigger. GREAT JOB~

I just love the look and always have my grandmother had this in her house…that’s when they used wall paper a lot and put it on the inside of the frames. It is so gorgeous…I will be doing this in my house….
