Nick, good to see the New Stadium in the half-light. It seems to have prompted a large number of repeat questions about the lighting. Although I don't know the infinte detail, I think you'll find that the lights aimed at the outside of the barrel-cladding along the East (and West) sides are "Outdoor Weatherproof Par Can with Zoom" LED lights. Each 'Can' contains about 20 independent LED's that can be angled independently so that the whole light can be Zoom or Widespread. Currently they are on a close-to-zoom setting whilst they get the positioning right and check the spectrum colours. Longer-term we can expect the barrel-cladding to be a 'wall of colour' along the bottom half of the barrel-cladding, due to its aerofoil shape. These lights can produce white light and that means that they can also produce any colour in the visible spectrum so it's possible that they could change the colour for non-Everton Events, of course. It also means that people should not get too uptight by the current purple appearance in the South Stand, as they're still testing them, presumably to check out the red spectrum without actually producing a red colour for really obvious reasons. I suspect that the lights have dimmer settings too, so it's possible that the lights are not yet seen in full splendour and power. Unless they have installed a strip of lighting up close to the castellation of the North Stand concrete roof and therefore out of sight of the droners, we will probably not see the fascia of the North Window lit up as with the South Window. There are no obvious wiring clues as to whether there is a feed along floor just inside the castellation. Only staff at UU or Liverpool Freeport will see much of the facade of the North Stand in the future (excepting droners audiences).

Regarding the blue spot lights, rather than having them pointing at the barrel cladding from the outside, it would of been a greater effect to have the barrel cladding back lite with the blue ambient lights, thus giving the cladding a blue all over glow at night?

Martin: : The barrel-cladding has only 20% porosity, so 80% of the internal light would be wasted and never seen by the public. It would create less blue effect than light shining on the external shiny 80% anodised aluminium. Be patient a little longer as the lights are currently set on close -to-zoom and not set to the larger spread settings.

I know LoR said everything is done for a reason but struggling with this one! Tommy, agree with the first sentence. Relax about the light colours. The lights can produce white light and therefore any colour in the full visible spectrum. There must be some valid reason for them wanting to check out the purple spectrum there.

Dave: the pitch grass is already in situ. The seeds have been sown, which is why the pitch is covered with sheeting, to prevent birds getting at it but also to help germination by keeping in warmth and moisture. It's much more likely that the lorry is delivering pitch-side materials.

Adrian, I'm not expecting the same lights on the North Stand. The electrical conduit/track is too far back under the terracing bowl base. They don't really need the same apprach there as only staff at UU or Liverpool Freeport will really see any of it. The benefit is for many more people to the E, S and W.

Nick - Looks like the yellow brick road (asphalt) has started under the North East corner. Presumably, this will continue under the full North Stand, over the bridge, and connect to the circuit in front of the DNC / Media Centre. That would then guide players and media people and Team Coaches to the West Car Park area. (Seen in videos from Saturday).

It will not guide players and team coaches to the West Quay but it will do the trick for the authorised VIP's, Directors, Broadcasters and lucky few Disabled Drivers. The players will be on the Team Coaches that will turn left onto the West Plaza before the North Isolation Bridge and stop in front of the central Terrace Tunnel in good weather and stop just under the cover of the north end of the mezzanine in foul weather. In foul weather the hinged gates and roller-shutters will be down and so there will be restricted access beyond and the sliding doors will be across the inside edge of the 3 west Terrace Tunnels too.

Neil: Away Fans will be encouraged to remain in allotted areas but they'll not be treated like dangerous zoo animals anymore than the protocols applied now in and around GP. Inside the stadium there are some Bars and Food Franchise units for the Away Fans but nothing quite as good a spread of options as for the Home Fans.

I hope the west car park isn’t staying tarmac as it just looks awful compared to the granite everywhere else. Just looks cheap

Neil: I am afriad you're going to have to get used to seeing Asphalt on the West Quay in the two shades. They laid Granite Setts or Concrete Flags only where people will be expected to walk. Asphalt is being used wherever ONLY vehicles are expected to be using, apart from the gap between the bases of the North Stand posts and the North Perimeter fence, where no one is expected to be using it.

@@davidbadcock2225that’s very disappointing. Just looks out of place with the rest of the areas. I get it’s a traffic area but it looks nothing like the other areas.

Looks a bit of an oddball from the outside and positioned the wrong way round and also looks as though one building has been put on top of another one. Very bland looking.
