This car is beautiful, solid interior. Vehicle that will be here in 10 year with no major problems. I love the fact that you can go anywhere

The capstone needs Improvement, The TRD Pro is already good ( In other car reviews ) but the capstone is below good, I agree with some of the comments here. I hope they make a last change before making it to production, but if this is the full release, well.. let's just let the market speak for itself.

Still Toyota lacking options in 2023 especially when it's cost 80k which is an insane amount of money, at least it should have more ambient colours n controls lighting is so poor imo

I dunno man, It is Toyota after all, there are some people who are gonna buy it. not only for reliability and torque, but the other benefits too. including the new features, safety system, and many more.

If you want every bell and whistle possible, go buy a Mercedes, BMW, Rolls Royce, etc. Tired of people expecting Toyota, a brand built on affordable reliability, to pump out the same product as a loaded Mercedes but make it cost $30k sticker. Scale all the features of this thing over to a GLS or GLE and you're paying way $80k. This is a great SUV for people who want luxury and style without having to spend nearly $100k. And once they work out their powertrain bugs, a lot of people will be picking this over the more expensive brands.

Honestly, idk how much Capstone you’re getting for 80k. Decently optioned, they’re 85 and the one I just looked at was a 96k sticker. Probably close to 105k out the door.

@@tonym2513 There's a few dealerships across the country selling AT MSRP. TRD Jon got his from a dealership in Florida for MSRP I believe. But you're right, most are marked up beyond believe. Better off getting the Lexus LX for $90k-$100k.

@@leerobertsiv447 that’s what I’m looking at right now. Sequoia capstone or Lexus LX600. I get what you’re saying about the markups. I went thru that last May. But this one was higher because it has literally every available option. Integrated dash cams, the air shock tear end, a safe in the console, you name it and this one had it.

What a gigantic catastrophe 😂 for Toyota. It’s just not competitive at all Senior Editor James Riswick: We waited nearly 15 years for a new Sequoia ... maybe we should've waited a bit longer. Rarely have I spent time with a new vehicle and thought, "that's just not competitive." In the face of the Chevy Tahoe, GMC Yukon, Ford Expedition and Jeep Wagoneer, it's very hard to identify ways in which the Sequoia has any advantage let alone isn't in dead last. Even its fuel economy, courtesy a standard hybrid powertrain, was woefully disappointing -- I barely cracked 16 mpg versus an EPA estimate of 22 mpg combined. The biggest strike against the Sequoia is its switch from an independent rear suspension to a solid rear axle -- the very opposite of what GM did with its most recent generation of full-size SUVs to provide superior ride, handling and interior packaging. Specifically, a low-enough rear floor to allow for a fold-flat third-row seat with sufficient legroom. You can read more about the third-row and cargo work-around shenanigans here. Yet, that solid rear axle also results in something that also plagued GM's last-generation of full-size SUVs: constant shimmying and vibrations when outfitted with gigantic wheels. The Sequoia Capstone I tested had 22-inch dubs, which in concert with that wagon cart suspension and body-on-frame construction made even the seemingly smoothest of roads feel like they were made of gravel. Vibrations are constant and impacts are tiresome. There was absolutely nothing luxurious about it despite the lofty $80,000 price tag. "Shocking" gets thrown around a lot, but it truly applies here. The Sequoia Capstone was shockingly disappointing.

the 3rd row when folded takes up to much cargo space and a big hole between the 2nd 3rd row when folded

I totally agree, the Tacoma and Sequoia TRD pro is for me tho. I never really see the beauty of Capstone other than pricetag.
