Great video as usual. One major innovation by EVH you neglected to mention is dipping the pick ups in wax. Nobody had ever thought to do this let alone try doing this. Eddie had been doing this since the late 70's and mentioned the fact in more than one interview. It took many years to catch on but now EVERYONE does it.... cheers.
@titmusspaultpaul53 жыл бұрын
BTW, I believe the Floyd Rose was invented around the early 80's and EVH was one of the first to really use it. At this stage nothing "went backwards ". Around '87 Via bought out the first Jem and as far as I know, this was the first production model (and probably the very first) that "went backwards ".

Eddie: EVH Frankie, Marshall JCM800, MXR 5150 OD, MXR Phase 90, MXR Stereo Chorus, MXR EVH Flanger, and a delay and for Michael Anthony, probably get his schecter bass and whatever bass amp songs they should do: Ain't talkin bout love, Panama, Cathedral, Oh Pretty Woman and maybe Eruption

@@KeeperOfPoops I don't think a JCM800 is appropriate. It needs a plexi for sure.

Rabea playing the 5150 standard made me feel nostalgic when I owned a kramer stryker 424. Loved that thing. was gonna purchase a wolfgang but that neon pink with bright maple fretboard made me think twice.

Love the Wolfgang series. Very articulate guitars...by this I mean you can hear individual notes of a chord, and while speed picking,just very clear sound on each note. These and the PRS SE are great bangs for the buck. Seriously...carrying the EVH name could command over a grand...but they keep prices low for us working stiffs.

My sad story. I once owed a Wolfgang back in the day. I'm also a single father raising my daughter. She needed an operation so I had to sell my Wolfgang. But all went well, except l don't have the Wolfgang. I can tell you this, it is a very awesome guitar. Maybe someday I will be able to replace it. It's tough when you are a single parent, ask anyone who is. Yeah I loved that guitar, but not nearly as much as my daughter. PEACE
@robertwillett41223 жыл бұрын
@GenericSeth Mr. Generic Seth It's unbelievable that you care, l appreciate it! The guitar was, it was a while,I think it was called Transperaint red but I remember it had a beautiful quilted top, WG Wolfgang. I played like butter, the frets board felt like it was concaved like for finger taping, which I could never master. I just loved playing classic rock and the blues and I could jam don't talk about love. It was awesome.

Thankyou! As an owner of a Wolfgang and also a pointy 80s Kramer, I just grinned all the way though that video.....and now I want a natural finish Wolfie. Back in the good old days (did I just say that), EVH used 2 volume controls and the pickup switch to do what the kill switch does (i.e. turn one volume right down and wiggle that swirch).. but I never saw him use a killswitch. A proper guitar hero and gear geek all in one 🤟
@TheSupersabby3 жыл бұрын
my best guess the killswitch was added to eddies repertoire after you really got me, to the effect he had on a guitar with the bridge pickup with no neck and used the toggle to create that effect

The EVH Wolfgang Sandard Exotic has to be one of the best values in any guitar. All of that for less than £600 is incredible. Also, the Wolfgang USA has a Killswitch on it as well.
@docsworld13693 жыл бұрын
Yes. You have to get a special in order to have the kill switch. The USA special I looked at was $3500 USD. Umm no!! I bought a standard and a D Tuna and will be putting that on myself. I have never worn out a set of frets so the stainless steel didn’t matter to me. The standard can stand with any guitar at that price point and smoke most of them!!
