Hi Angela! Beautiful dress! Love that you could make the changes to fit your preferences 🙂 Also, I must say I loved the outdoor location you chose to use (makes me miss the country so much!) How sweet to take Farley out for his birthday/anniversary! He is so lucky to be part of your family 🤗 Loved the sneak peek to your sewing room - can’t wait to see the whole thing 😀 I just finished up my 3rd version of Kwik Sew 3693. I made view B two years ago and wear it all the time and it has been in the back of my mind to make again. A couple weeks ago I made view A and a few days ago finished another view B. I love them all 😊

Thanks Michelle! 🤗 Which fabrics did you use for your 3693 makes? I have the pattern but haven’t made it yet. I’m happy to hear you’ve had such success with it!

Angela, I enjoyed the video. I like the dress you made. I completed one dress for Project Dress A Girl. After watching Mari's video, I have to remove the sew in velcro that the pattern called for. I will make some ties instead to sew on the back of the dress. I have started working on Simplicity S8935 for the other little dress. This dress will be a size 3. I am making two dresses this year. When that dress is finished, I am going to make some appliance covers for my cd changer, DVD player and stereo receiver. Those will not take long to make. After that I will start making some long sleeve blouses, a Retro skirt suit and other things for the fall winter. I probably will buy some plaid fabric. Enjoy your week.

Hi Vanessa! Your sewing schedule is very full. Have fun making the little girl dresses. I did 2 last year and they were so cute! I'm going to try squeezing at least one in this month. A retro skirt suit sounds interesting. Which pattern will you use?

I have this same pattern M8281 and also changed it to eliminate the front seam. I did not notice the dress had a seam down the middle of the bodice when I purchased the pattern. My fabric was a plaid seersucker and I didn't want to attempt matching the plaid. I also lined the bodice instead of using facings. Your fall dress is beautiful and I will use some of your tips next time I sew this pattern. Thanks!

I'm so happy to hear it was helpful! I'd love to see how your version turned out. I bet it was perfect with a seersucker!

You did a great job with your fabric from the meet and greet. I haven’t used mine yet. It was expensive and I want to make sure I will like what I make. Your Kallax unit looks good under your table. Liz

Hi Liz, so good to hear from you! I was a bit nervous cutting into the fabric at first and I'm so happy the dress turned out well. I'm excited to see what you end up making with your fabric.

Hi Angela, your dress is beautiful, great job on the changes/hack 👏👏. I am working on a dress, it is almost done, just need to add the button holes and actual buttons. Today, I had to go out to Joann’s to find matching buttons😊😊. Have a great Holiday weekend. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Thanks, Karen! Do you enjoy shopping for buttons? It's one of those things I rarely need to do and I really enjoy looking through them all. Hope you have a great week!

@@JustMeAndMyFabric hi Angela, I always have a hard time finding the right buttons, Joann’s doesn’t have a great variety and I have to settle with whatever I closely match 😕😕.

Hi Angela! Happy Birthday to Farley!! He's getting to be a big boy, isn't he? Our Bella is growing so fast, too. She'll be 5 months old in a few days. I liked your dress. The fabric is beautiful and the dress looks so comfortable. I have got to get busy doing some sewing; I've been lining up my projects. I've got a few Love Notions patterns that I want to try as well. Have a great week!!

Really like your M8281 dress and pretty fabric. I have that same pattern. Like that you rounded the neckline. I'm not big into v-necklines; prefer rounder necklines instead. Look forward to seeing your NL pattern make.

Thanks so much! I’m really happy with the rounded neckline & so glad I did that. I do think when I make this again I might even up the waistline. It drops lower in the back per the pattern. It’s gonna be so modified it won’t even be the same pattern by the time I’m done , lol. Best wishes with your make!

Hi Angela! HAPPY ANNIVERSARY/Birthday Farley! I am currently sewing two little dresses that someone asked me to make for her Granddaughters. She fell in love with the dresses I made for Project Dress--A-Girl and decided she would like 2 for Christmas gifts. Once those are finished I am going to do a challenge that Dee & Dory pulled from their challenge box last week... a tunic AND leggings. I am hoping to get all of those made this next week. And I have more fabrics pulled for other projects as well. OH and I have an order for 2 of my crocheted hats that I need to get done as well. Busy busy!

Thanks so much!! Oh my goodness you are productive! How cute that you got a request for custom-made dress a girl dresses. I made 2 last year and make do so again this year. I'm excited for your tunic and leggings challenge. Do you have a favorite pattern for leggings?

Hello, Angela! Wow, that dress is absolutely amazing! That fabric looks so beautiful on you! I love the pattern you chose, it really highlights the fabric for sure! Thanks for sharing a peak into your sewing room! May I ask where you got the top for your cutting table at? I’m trying to design a cutting table for my new space 🥰 Loved catching up with you, Angela! Hope you’re having a great start to your week! Happy Sewing ❤~Tiffany

Hi Tiffany! Thank you so much! The top for my table is just a 4' x 6' sheet of plywood that I picked up from Home Depot a few years ago. It is the "nicer" plywood that looks like solid birch. I think I paid around $50-$60 for it then. I gave it several light sandings to get it as smooth as possible, then rolled a few coats of matte clear polyurethane for protection. It's been a great tabletop!

Hi Angela, I just discovered your channel and have to tell you how much I love your dress! You chose the right fabric for it and it looks wonderful on you! I am sort of an intermediate beginner at sewing and am inspired to try new projects by watching videos like yours on KZbin. Makes me feel like I can become a better sewist! Would you recommend this pattern for a beginner?
@JustMeAndMyFabric Жыл бұрын
Hi there and Welcome!! Thanks so much for the sweet comments 💕😊 I'm so happy the videos have been helpful. It's cool that you're working to improve your sewing skills (same with me, all the time!). I would recommend this pattern for a beginner, for a couple reasons: It's a bit roomy and not fitted at all, so there is some forgiveness regarding fit, which could be good if one isn't to that point in their learning yet. Maybe someone is just learning the very basics and this would be a good pattern for that. There aren't any closure mechanisms (buttons, zippers, etc), at least with the sleeveless version, so again it would allow the sewist to focus on getting the basics down first. I think the long-sleeved option might call for a button at the sleeve cuff. I'd love to know if you end up making this dress and how it turned out. Also, don't hesitate to ask if you have any other questions 😊. Thanks so much!
