Very fun video mate! Oh, you aren't ready, the ost goes CRAZY HARD. The theme they use in the background of the trailer is called "Theme X" and also has a vocal theme that hits even harder. From the sneak peak at the end of the trailer it seems they're possibly expanding on the ending of the original game. It had a pretty rough cliffhanger, so finally getting answers all these years later will be fun. The Skell combat (flying mechs) is easily some of the most fun I've had in the series, and that's from an avid lover of 2's gameplay. The exploration is insanely addicting. As for timelines the game isn't *super* connected to the main series (yet...) but it came out after Xenoblade 1 so you're good to play it whenever since you've already played 1!

Xenoblade Chronicles X is alot heavier into the Sci-fi then the fantasy, Earth was caught in a conflict between alien species and because of that humanity had to evacuate and find a new world to settle. The main theme of the game explores the concept of trying survive on and settle another planet, with a bunch of the things you might face inbetween.

I guess it could be a good idea to wait to play 3 and its DLC before hopping in X, you never know if Tetsuya Takahashi is going to add some story connection with other games haha They said the game will have added story elements so let's wait and see Great reaction!

X isn't part of 1/2/3's continuity but for all we know DE could add something. What really has it stand out aside from the setting is that its very world building/exploration focused rather than super story centric. Not to say that its bad but its a title where you get more out of it from doing sidequests than just focusing on the main story
@thevoidmagician6653Ай бұрын
I argue against that. Xenoblade feels like its from far off into the future. Xenoblade 1 was about gazing into the future and seizing destiny. X feels like we the players are gazing into the future of the Xenoblade series. (There’s Ouroboros crystals on Mira, a planet that has striking resemblances with many places throughout the series.

I hope not. I like that Xenoblade X is separate from the other games in terms of story. I didn't really enjoy the story of the Xenoblade trilogy that much compared to Xenosaga trilogy or Xenogears. I was quite relieved that Xenoblade X was not connected to Xenoblade 1 when I played the game on Wii-U.

Gameplay wise, it's like Xenoblade 1 (same layout for arts and waiting to recharge system), but you have your own custom avatar and you can choose your class. You can master all classes to combine different skills and equip 2 weapons (ex: swords and guns). You can have a MECHA (for driving on the HUGE map and combat) also customizable. And the most unique, ONLINE MULTIPLAYER (you can play the game fully solo*). This is the Xenoblade MMORPG that "was" exclusive on the WiiU. Yes, the game is indeed good and for the music... it's unique (like amazing and weird at the same time).

The bit at the end was showing us that they added more story content as the game ended on a cliff hanger before. I have a guess or two who that mystery guy is, but I can't say for sure. Also if you want to learn a but more about what's going on without major spoilers, just go back and react to the original XCX trailers. I won't spoil, all I will say is in the game we are on that planet do to fleeing for our lives, as humanity was hunted down.

this was a huge surprise to me when it was announced! i was sure XCX would remain a Wii U exclusive. this game is definitely the black sheep of the xenoblade series, with some very different direction, but it does have that xenoblade heart to it. i would say if you're going to check it out, probably better to wait until after xc3, but either way love all the xenoblade content!

I was betting on it being released for the next console. I'm not totally updated regarding the Switch 2 specs (I like to be surprised, so I usually don't follow the rumors and leaks), but I think there were talks once of a Nintendo patent for a gaming device with two screens which you can split apart, thus basically being able to emulate the Wii U screen in your controller while the main game runs on the TV. If that were the new console, XCX would have been a perfect candidate for a port to that. I had XCX for the Wii U, but never finished it. I was in a not such a good place back then and it damped my enjoyment of the game. So early in the game, I put it aside and left it unfinished.

I just wanted to clear up some disinformation about Xenoblade Chronicles X since I know a huge chunk of the player base has not played it or have some belief it doesn't tie into the mainline. It does tie into Xenoblade Chronicles 1 and since you've played it you will have a better understanding of a hidden story that that is being told as you play some side missions and the main story scenario.
@zues121510Ай бұрын
The original Xenoblade Chroincles X on the Wii U looks suprisingly very similar to the new version with the improvements being somewhat simpler than the xenoblade 1 vs 1 DE. These smaller changes, however, are things I've been wishing for for 8 years since the pre-launch switch trailer came out. I always felt the Wii U version looked too good for the low resolution it had and that a resolution bump on the switch would be just perfect. Some other changes include better textures, majorly improved main character, and important characer models (the old models looked very uncanny), better colours, seemingly bigger subtitles (a major issue with the original), smaller file size, better audio quality and mixing and finally better draw distances/less pop-in which was a very big issue on the Wii U.

@Alfonso88279 just being able to pilot mechs makes it drastically different. Sure you don't get them right away, but they aren't just "power ups" or transformations like in other series, you legit get your own mech (many mechs, each party member you can give a mech to)

I played 1 and X and beat both. I llayed a little bit of 2, but I was turned off quite quickly. The vibes and combat just didn't sit with me. 3 looks amazing, but I want to see if Switch 2 can have it in higher resolution and maybe framerate.

X you can play whenever. Without going into spoilers, it is wholly unconnected from the rest of the series. There's a possibility the new story elements may connect it in some way, but it wouldn't be in a way that would require you to play Xenoblade 3 before it. Also like others have said, this is a game that is very much focused on the sidequests more than the main story. Unlike the rest of the series, this is a true open world game, with a large part of the story telling and world building being in the sidequests. And in my opinion, this game has the best sidequests in the whole series. They are really good.
@gregoryhayes7569Ай бұрын
This is my favorite Xenoblade game, but it's very different from the others. It's more of a western-style RPG, with a customizable protagonist and a focus on exploration and sidequests over the main plot.
@implicitmintjulepАй бұрын
X is special, and criminally underexposed due to being trapped om ther Wii U. Unlike the mainline games it's more focused on exploration and side content than story, and as you may have noticed the world is the true star. The environments, sense of scale, awe and danger is still unmatched in any open world game. Remember that feeling stepping out into Gaur Plains for the first time? Imagine a whole game full of that feeling. And it plays GREAT on CEMU at 4K60 btw

Xenoblade X is really good, and the game has gotten quite the visual upgrade. Just keep in mind that the game is not connected to the numbered xenoblade games, and that the sidequests are really worth your time.

I disagree with the common opinion that it isn't already tied to the existing canon, but if my theories come true, it's likely a part of a separate arc from 1-3. Canon but not extremely important to this portion of the overarching narrative. I'd just keep going with 3 and Future Redeemed. Hoewever, if you haven't played Xenosaga, I would recommend that before Future Redeemed.

@Alfonso88279Ай бұрын
I have NOT played this game. This is the only xenoblade game I haven't played. I was gonna give it a try on emulator but now... I'll wait for the switch remaster. I know the basis, what they say in the trailer: Earth is gone, mankind is struggling to get its shit together in an alien world. This is not spoilers, it's the premise of the game, it's in the trailer. Originally, it happened in an alternative continuity, unrelated to the other Xenoblade games... but something in the trailer makes me believe they are gonna connect the games. When the girl says that the earth was gone in a wave of light or something like that... reminds me of what Klaus did by pushing that button. But that's speculation from my part. I don't know and I don't want to know until we get the game. Something that my brother in law (big fan of this game) told me to keep my hype in check, he really wanted me to understand this so I am not disappointed: This is not a story driven game. The story here has some twists and all, but it's poor, it's not the main point. You can know because the main character is a mute avatar. The point of the game is combat, and exploration. Huge maps, a lot of hours to grow our team, mechas to obtain (AFTER MANY HOURS) and to mod to our taste. He also told me the music is incredible. And one thing I saw watching him playing, also not a spoiler, it's a minor detail: There are guns. You can choose to shoot guns instead of kicking or cutting the enemy with the usual attacks. This looks like a more grounded Xenoblade, more science fiction and less fantasy, however, despite the looks, everybody tells me this is VERY MUCH anime based. A lot of anime, in the songs, in the themes, in the quests, in the characters... kinda like Xenoblade 2. In fact, most people I know told me this game is more like Xenoblade 2 than 1 and 3. For the good and the bad. Anyway, that's what I can share, I know some other detail but that would definitely be spoiler. I really want to play this, SO FREAKING MUCH.
@gregoryhayes7569Ай бұрын
To clarify on the story, I think X's story really lives in its side quests. They're excellent, and they weave together to tell the tale of humanity building a new civilization on an alien world. You can also make choices that have a real impact on that story.
@Alfonso88279Ай бұрын
@@gregoryhayes7569 That makes me very happy, I love side quests. I always complete each one of them. I even loved the sidequests in xenoblade 1 :D
@kayden2119Ай бұрын
Technically X is fairly stand alone although it has a very popular theory that ties it with the main trilogy and if there is unique side story in this version like there is with every other xenoblade game then it will probably tie it together. Best to completely finish all xenoblade content before playing just in case imo.
