Josh, I think that did a super job. I was a little worried at first thinking it would throw things back at you but it did not. It looked really good and really safe. You don’t have to turn your head around like in a tractor and I love that.

What a great mower. Cutting out front, especially wood weeds makes a lot of sense. Of course most land holders can’t justify a machine powerful enough to run this slasher it is always good to see one in action.

We use a cutter similar to that on our articulated Bobcat at the airport where I work. YES, YOU MUST TILT THE FRONT as most of the cutting debris are ejected out the front. Cool vid, thanks for the share.

I'd prefer that castle nut on the stump jumper be recessed in an access hole in the stump jumper. With it sticking down in the path of stumps, rocks, etc., that defeats the purpose of protection. But love the drive forward access to tight places...it's such a pain driving backward on a tractor. What a transformation, Josh! Nice!!

Raise the front of the cutter up another inch or two. It will cut better and direct oore debris out the front. In thick stuff, raise the "bucket" and then tilt downward into the weeds/scrub trees. Don't know if the Gehl is a high flow machine or not, but most brush mowers and forestry mulcher heads love the higher flow rates and aids in cooling the hydraulic fluid.

Your a smart man I believe so instead of overkill with that monster cutter on dog fennel. One thing I really admire about you, when you get a product to use and review, we get the unvarnished truth. If you ever run for city dog catcher you got my vote! Im sure you could haggle with another farmer nearby for 6 or so goats you could borrow to clean up the wooded areas, then you can go back and seed it for the cows, probably done late fall or early spring! Cant wait till you have some kayak videos!!! You be safe out there...win win

I rent a Bobcat with a brush cutter once a year for a week. I get an amazing amount of work done for +- $3000. I get a newish machine with A/C and ballistic door and they fix anything that breaks. They deliver and pick up. It’s a chunk of money but I can rent it many times over for what it costs to buy. Costs me about $7500 to hire someone for a week. When I run it I cut exactly what I want cut. I especially like being able to cut thorny plants like locust and mesquite trees without flat tires.

I just got a quote on the 60" cutter from Tri L. I was told $6850. Tri L told me it has a White 355 drive motor and the sides and deck were 10Ga which is .1345". 60" weighs 720lbs. Other cutters of same size weigh 100+ pounds more.

You need to torque those bolts down that hold the gearbox to the frame and the hydraulic motor tack weld the bolts so they don't come loose play they will come loose and you'll keep having to take off the stumpjumper so it's easier just to tack weld the tips of the bolts grind them down if you need to change anything

I just wanted to compliment you on the care you take to set up your camera(s) to include various angles, shots, and items of interest as well as speeding it up when appropriate. I liked the one shot here where you lifted the deck to show us the underside. I was wondering what it looked like when working and how much debris was collecting under the deck. Also, it appeared you may have incorporated a clip from one of your security cameras in one clip? Great job. I'm sure it takes a lot of time setting all of this up along with all the other daily chores, but it is noticed!

surprisingly enough...the mower kicks debris mostly out of the front, as long as I keep it low its great...the mower actually has a chain hookup nearest to the cab to attach to prevent ya from accidentally raising it too high..just have to be cautious! A ballistic door would be best..I agree

we discuss the various aspects of farm finance. Creating content around equipment, farming, tools and cooking is how I earn my living. A man cannot earn a living solely on 150 acres and 50 cows....perhaps now you have a better understanding my friend. My "town job" is here, farming, teaching, growing and building. Discussing the farm's income is in a totally different basket from my content creation business....understand a bit more? The farm should feed itself by now. It should earn a profit stand alone, but you see how much money I spend...that comes from content creation. On the business side of things I employ several contractor teams of editors
