I didn't hear about music being a part of Minecraft rather than separately, do you know when it changed?

bedrock before doesn't have music in it so it's really amazing that u can hear them noe and can enjoy jukebox

I have never heard of the music having to be downloaded as a resource pack. I only play bedrock, but play so rarely on my phone as opposed to my Xbox that perhaps I didn’t notice the music was missing? Edit: or maybe I automatically downloaded the correct resource pack from the beginning without realizing it. Part of the experience of playing has always been the music.

@toycat I can’t pinpoint an exact date, but I remember being confused when I didn’t hear any music on it. I remember looking up a tutorial which showed me how to download the music.

Just did some more research. Turns out until about 2017, mobile devices that had Minecraft had to download the resource pack to hear the music. Devices that had downloaded it before the update still had to get the pack unless they deleted it and redownloaded it. (according to the minecraft wiki.)
