With regard to using the burner with the triangle. It is a tight fit for the hose. but a user I follow on Instagram has made a very elegant solution He goes by the username of: soiwentforawalk Basically he has cut the hose slot in a professional way to make more clearance for the hose. If you are on Insta, check it out.

Thanks for the review always great to learn from all your posts. I'm new to Trangia but got the full 25-23 kit with both the old Gb 27 and spirit Burner for my car camping trips here in Canada 🔥🏕️🇨🇦

Thanks for the kind words. My daughter is in BC so I was looking at getting her a Trangia but they are very expensive compared to Europe. You have a good bit of kit there, really good for car camping as well.

This burner is made to also invert the canister upside down and pass liquid gas into the preheat tube to atomise the fuel, so you can use canister fuel in even colder winter conditions than usual.
@BrokenBackMountains20 күн бұрын
@@lesliemartin-od1dq I do show it inverted as well. It works better than the old one.

Totally agree about buying an original product made in a regulated european country rather than a Chinese alternative when possible. (Still hoping it copes with an inverted cannister ..otherwise I'll keep using my old model. I look forward to a future update.)

Thanks again. The weather is turning here so will hopefully get an update for you quickly. Hopefully the next video. As for updating, the only reason I could think for replacing would be the easier valve layout and, if, it works with an inverted canister. Otherwise the old one should be as good.
@DubberDabbles4 ай бұрын
As usual very informative and well presented, thanks.

Cheers. A couple of differences between it and the older one. The valve, of course, and the pre heater tube seems to be thinner and closer to the burner.

Does this use liquid gas as well if you invert a gas canister? This replaces the Multifuel X2?
@BrokenBackMountainsАй бұрын
It is only for isobutane gas. It isn't for Coleman fuel and wouldn't fit on a pump bottle. It will work inverted with a gas cylinder for the winter

Great review, strangely I’ve been looking at getting a gas burner! I use the Trangia triangle a lot.
@BrokenBackMountains4 ай бұрын
@@Thedagda801 It fits in the triangle but you have to get it just right to get it stable. The notch in the bottom of the triangle is just big enough for the hose. I did manage it and with practice it will be easy. I do have a triangle video scheduled which will show the alcohol and the gas burner. As always, thanks for watching. I always enjoy your comments.

Does it still fits firebox outdoors stoves
@BrokenBackMountains2 ай бұрын
@@jamesabond9332 good question. I don't have a firebox but if the old version or a copy fits then their will fit as well, I would presume. It fits the triangle but the hose is problematic until you find the right angle. Maybe someone else has the answer and can help. Anyone?

I've been a Trangia user since 1983, first the 25, then the 27, then the 28 a.k.a. Mini. I have the go-systems gas converter. I refill the smaller canister from larger canister, it's never been a problem, I freeze the smaller canister and do refilling outdoors just in case. Alcohol wins for 1-3 nights, gas wins for 4+ days. I agree with you gas is easier to control, but meth refill issue only really arises with a larger complex meal, encoutered that often with the 25 doing a 2+ persons real cooking but never with the 27 or 28 for 1-2 persons. It's the simmer ring which keeps me coming back to Trangia, plenty of real foods like porridge won't tolerate anything else.

Ah you beat me by a couple of years. I was using a globetrotter in 83 and then a Svea petrol stove but I did get a 27 after that. I have a soft spot for all the Trangia systems and for alcohol stoves. The go systems insert melted my 27 upper windshield a few years ago so I'm wary of all gas burners in my Trangia's now. If I'm going on a long trip I usually take a speedster stove as it is the lightest I have. It is also alcohol and very frugal. Thanks for watching and your interesting and informative comment. We must be about the same "era".😂 All the best Ewen.

👍👍👍 .. nice 😊. I have the Trangia 28t 'mini' which gives me excellent service and am looking towards the '27 Storm Cooker' and associated Burners. Flame Settings .. any flame that comes up around the sides of the pot is energy wasted. While a lower heat setting may take (and not that much actually) longer to boil, one would definitely use less fuel. Good comment on 'clones' and such. Thanks for sharing .. take care ..

Yes, the GB77 („Storm“) is superior to the GB74. Superior in regard to simmering (very low flame) and also better in regard to be used inverted (liquid gas). The hose could be more flexible…
@BrokenBackMountains3 ай бұрын
I reckon it will get more flexible through use. If not, I will Dremel the triangle notch to fit it.
