What if pacts took control of, say, a remote control racecar? Would they be able to drive it? If so, could they pilot even bigger machines? Be given corporeal bodies and truly live amongst mankind?

I think that would be interesting, but it was suggested that they lost mobility while inside an object. I think that they might not be able to move of their won will even while in an object that has joints or moving components.

Almost certainly vacuum cleaners. Hoovers, or whatever you call them in your part of the world. It's really the only home appliance that most people regularly use that uses suction.
