I see they have the thicker cheek pads like the newer Race spec V3 moto version. I tried on the XL and it was so tight! I found the older Fluid inside version with the thinner cheek pads. So much better. To say size up is an understatement with the newer revised versions RPC Mips and RS V3 MOTO. But I think you can get different cheek pads?.....

For a $500+ dollar helmet, would be nice if they included different thickness cheek pads.

Yeah it would, although it does cut down on waste and throwing stuff away you don't need. Perhaps discounted aftermarket pads or a trade out/replacement program would be good.

Which part of your head do you measure to determine the size of the helmet?

the widest part so around forehead.. i recommend getting bigger size..my head is 57,5 cm and m is 57-58 but its too tight.. my head starts hurting and its painfull to get it off
