I wonder why they didn’t carry over the fidlock straps from the Proframe - I love that, so much easier to attach/detach with gloves.
@DarcyFletchh5 ай бұрын
In the event of a crash, some have found that the fidlocks can undo themselves if dragging on their chin. I have a speed frame pro mips and it happened to me a few weeks ago and it’s pretty scary. I love the system so surely they can find a way to do it. But fox is originally a moto sport team so it makes sense to have d ring

Excellent point, part of reason I bought TLD A2 mips was the high rating. If they are sending some helmets send all of them. As always great work and look forward to next video!!

Wish you would have talked more about things like: Weight Available sizing/cm Shell sizings (is XS using the same outer shell size compared to XL with only pad thickness difference?) Special Features that distinguish it from others (breakaway visor, amount of ventilation, any shock absorbing gel or something?) What changed from previous version of the Fox Rampage Pro Carbon (RPC). How this differs from Fox Rampage Comp, and Fox Proframe

Thanks for the feedback. We try to always evolve and sometimes we list all the features that are easily listed on brand’s website and then get asked to focus on experiential stuff as anyone can read the stats from a site… we don’t want to make 15 min long videos but we take all comments into account so thanks for sharing!

I don't see a lot of vents to keep your head cool and comfortable.. How many..? the Fluid packs look like they block airflow to the head..

Nice helmet. If I had a bunch of choices for free helmets I'd go with that one, but spending that much cash on a helmet (remember helmets are disposable items that you throw away after a crash) is IMO a bit insane. Get the most secure helmet you can afford - sure. But don't get a helmet you feel too attached to to throw it out as soon as there is a risk of compromising it.

I bought the same model. Make sure you try it on as the Loam Wolf said. I would of been a small if you purely look at the sizing chart and went with a medium. Glad I did. The D carbon closure is great but it is tough to strap compared to a standard metal D ring. Overall though great helmet. The helmet takes a couple of rides to break in but when it does it fits awesome. It will feel tight at first especially at the cheeks.

MIPS is great, unless it’s noisy. I had a IXS trigger MIPS, but it creaked, and rattled just riding along and being a full face, noise is transferred more easily to your ears. Exchanged it for the non-mips version, and it’s completely silent. Any MIPS noise on this helmet? Noise might be a minor annoyance for some, but it’s a dealbreaker for me.
@TheLoamWolf2 жыл бұрын
We definitely talk about the quietness of this helmet at 7:00.

But a 60.8 cm fitted hat fits me

That is tough to say as some brands XL are different shapes for different types of heads “molds”. I’d look at the numbers though for a best guess on a fly and this but in think XL would fit.

This or the new proframe rs?
@TheLoamWolf2 жыл бұрын
Depends what your riding / looking for. If you want a single-purpose, downhill specific (bike park, shuttle laps) helmet, then definitely the the Rampage. The Proframe RS would be a good choice if you want a helmet that you can do it all in (bike park, shuttling, long days pedaling on the trail, great for ebiking).
@Doub1e_R2 жыл бұрын
@@TheLoamWolf thanks for reply. I have a drop frame that I use for trail riding. But for the gnarly steeps that we ride handful of times would want a little more protection I’d be on an e-bike. If I can get both for around same price would you recommend the rampage?
@rdkuless11 ай бұрын
these are either MIPS or fluid.. Which is this..?
@TheLoamWolf11 ай бұрын
Fox transitioned all their Rampage helmets to MIPS for the 2022 model year and beyond. Their older Rampage helmets used the Fluid Tech. Regarding your other question, there are 11 intake vents and 7 exhaust vents.

I doubt the ratings are on the company's side tbh, because all of these companies do have helmets in the VT ratings! I think they just didn't test full face for whatever reason.

Interested in this vs the 7idp 23 carbon y’all talked about in a previous review. The 7idp is also Carbon, seems to vent well, and has fidlock for a decent amount less. Is the Fox truly worth the extra cheddar in this economy?

3:08 tell that to the NFL. Someone invented it, proved its safety, then the league and teams refused to use it. Even the individual player couldn't choose to wear it because sponsors are sh!t. I swear they want enforcers cracking helmets to ruin players careers. A couple of match bans to wipe out their best player for the rest of their lives and the sport doesn't even compensate your injury
@josecarlosavendano54312 жыл бұрын
Yes all mtb brands should have more disclosure.!Also, why on earth brands have rejected using an EPP core in their helmets, are they trying to continuously sell us helmets? Varizorb doesn´t act like pure EPP, neither does that aramid nonsense TLD is putting in their Stage helmets. Unless you have EPP as the core of your helmet, 1 hard impact and your helmet is DONE! Bye bye 500 bucks. Nice paint jobs and sophisticated vents are welcomed, but Id rather pay 500 washingtons for a helmet that is going to last me through the downhill season instead of maybe a month.I´ll be looking more into POC´s Coron models since they have an EPP core. Carbon and kevlar are overrated and without EPP, to me, make no sense
