Tanks look great. Your Tincs look huge. What is your feeding regimen and supplementation?
@NorthernFrogger3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I typically feed every other day, enough flies that they usually last into the second day, so they are never really without flies for very long. I dust supplements at every feeding, and I like to switch up my supplements. Sometimes I'll use Dendrocare, and when I'm using that it's basically all I use, but I'll also use Repashy quite a bit, and when I'm doing that I will use the Calcium Plus with every feeding, and then once or twice a month I will use the Vit A as well. Sometimes I will use the Rep-Cal as well, and with those ones I typically alternate between the Calcium w D3 and the Herptivite. I try to keep my tanks stocked with springtails, but other than that I pretty much just feed flies. Melanogaster for froglets and then switch them to Hydei as soon as they will take them.

What do you think of fly-proofing exo terras by applying silicone to the door gaps and then slicing through the silicone with a razorblade? Saw it on Facebook and thought it was a neat idea

Hey nice vid which would be your tips on how to breed auratus I have 4 of them don’t know if they sing as I also have 2 tincs in an other tank and they sing and lay eggs. Thanks
@NorthernFrogger3 жыл бұрын
Maybe try feeding and misting more... Auratus tend to breed pretty easily, so as long as you have mature males and females and their basic husbandry needs are met, they tend to do the rest...

What's your experience with keeping a Betta in a community tank? Do you have any issues with nipping or aggression in general?
@NorthernFrogger3 жыл бұрын
I find it's kind of hit or miss, depending of the betta and the types of other fish. So far everyone has been good in here... The only fin nipping I really see is between the male guppies.

What kind of racks or shelves do you use to put all your setups on?
@NorthernFrogger3 жыл бұрын
The three stands with the big front opening tanks I built myself, the other ones are just kind of your typical steel garage storage type shelves you can find at any home improvement type store. A couple of the aquarium tanks are on matching aquarium stands as well.

How long does it take to feed all those frogs. U feed daily or every other day
@NorthernFrogger3 жыл бұрын
Every other day... If I'm really in a hurry I can feed them in about 20 minutes, but I normally like to take my time and observe the frogs as I go so it usually takes more like an hour.

If you have an estimation of the cost of all thoses tanks on your electrical bill, im kind of intressting Super vidéo btw, this is so inspiring 🤩
@NorthernFrogger3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!😁 I actually did do an estimate recently, and I think all of the animal lighting costs about $20 per month, give or take a couple bucks depending on the exact rates that month.

@NorthernFrogger3 жыл бұрын
Lol I'm in Calgary, Canada... I don't think our power rates are exceptionally cheap though. I think it's just that all of my lights are low wattage LEDs so they don't actually use much power... I think heating is what really jacks up the electricity cost for a lot of reptile collections, but dart frogs don't need additional heat. Actually I think my TV and gaming computer when running hard will draw more power than all the lights in the frog room...

Help!! Please HELP ME! Someone, ANYONE please help! We just got back from out of town and discovered frog eggs in the kiddie pool. I let them develop to the point of hatching (a few days if that tells you anything) before attempting to move any of them for fear of killing all of them. I LOVE frogs but more in the stuffed animal/home decor way more so than live ones...I don't do well with anything that requires keeping live insects as food. But, I thought raising them would be a fun science project for my kids and at least maybe save a few of them. BUT, I NEED SOME HELP!! I've never done this and everything I read contradicts the last thing I read so I AM LOST. We are in WV and I figure it's the little tiny frogs that always hang out around the big pool...I believe most people around here call them tree frogs or spring frogs but that could be a very uneducated name/description. We got a 10 gal fish tank, the filter that came with it I believe would have sucked the tadpoles up especially now as they are super tiny. I guess they're about a week old (out of the eggs) now. I got a sponge filter but I think I may need a bigger air pump as it isn't pouring water out as I think it probably should. Is there one you would recommend or set up, without spending a fortune...these are a science project they're not gonna be pets til they die of old age. I want the best Chance for them though as my daughter goes back to school in a couple weeks and if allowed I am going to donate the whole setup to my daughter's class/teacher as apparently she loves frogs as I do and that way all the kids could learn about it instead of just my daughter. Thought it would be a great thing to help encourage interest and education about animals and the environment. I bought "Invert Aquatics" tadpole food in Carnivore powder and algae powder but I have no clue how much of either to feed, if you use both at the same time, it's "fine powder", heck they might both be the completely wrong type all together. I can't really count them all with as much as they move but I'm guessing there is maybe a 100 tadpoles, give or take 20-30? If there is any information or help you could give me I'd be so grateful. If there is someplace to email you (ANYONE reading this and able to help! I'll take any advice I can get!) I can send pictures of whatever if that would help you advise me. Really hoping you can help! I'm gonna feel awful if I end up killing all of them because I'm lost on exactly how to care for them. Thank you in advance!

It is technically possible, but because they are a CITES animal they require special permits and inspections by fish and wildlife... So the shipping and fees end up costing about an extra $1000
