@@ProjectBrupeg Are you able to put floatation on drone? So it will float if necessary.. aka likely .. could be those key fobs that inflate when in water.. Also waterproof the circuit etc... .. so my burble is in one post .. Primary fuses should be at battery faceplate so lead is fully protected.. the current your playing with is too high for remote.. As it is a removable sole above inverter etc you should really have a rain guard.. quite literally a sloping roof.. thin plastic.. that's removable under the sole... Why? You will have people ... as you said "98% water" traveling above dripping a lot.. Also watch out for condensation.. if it does put air flow and/or warmth.. inverter might do enough.. I prefer battery switches to be easily accessible if fire .. so not above batteries! The number of boats that have the fire blanket above the cooker amazes me.. Some don't move it .. I loose contact with them.. You could do with a filter after your primary set... You will probably never need to change filter but could rotate to others... Get a spare (2) impeller for the mechanical driven pump and store it in a sealed container.. air tight food? .. to keep rubber fresh .. some add things to box to make rubber last longer, get advice.. In UK for example.. 12 volt bilge pumps .. 1500 gph are about half the price of a 2000 gph and it's not really different ... I buy 2 1500 gph.. Should have bleeped words!!! Your now not a family channel ... Regards Bella and Mark.

Brilliant Pumps, you will be surprised how much they can move when you need it to. ours was always set as the deck wash but we had a manifold between the pump and the sea chest with multiple T valves that could pump any compartment individually or all at once. We had an issue when steaming home one day, the ME overboard discharge separated from the hull, discharging into the ER. we heard an unusual alarm (we had never heard it before) and checked the ER and the water was up to the floor plates. after pushing the ME discharge back into the hole and holding it in place. we switched it over to bilge pulled the boat out of gear engaged the pump and floored it (12V71 Detroit). Worlds most powerful 2 inch pump. of course it was blowing and 2m swell so we had to keep going back into gear to keep our heading but that wee pump threw that water out like you wouldn't believe unless you see it. Just a tip, make sure everyone is aware of the different sounds of each alarm including Electronics ones, cause we didn't know that one but we sure as shit know it now. every time I hear the same sounding alarm now it send shivers down my spine and reminds me of that day.

I feel the pain of not being neat with the wiring. As an apprentice we had to loom wires with a cotton stribg-twine that was coated in wax. you just did loops and moved on, but all the same size gaps no wires crossing and working out the order the wires needed to be in AT the end to leave the bundle neatly. Fun it was not but it made you think of the details.

A good, small, potentially cheap water pump, that outputs a good amount of water would be the impeller off a skidoo. I mean, they're small, they output a good volume of water, and they really don't care about details as long as they have good flow (you could use like a fire fighting hose setup) out of the back. One of those babies, would probably suck dry any volume of water short of having a Titanic gash in the side.

Kia ora guys, Suggestion...... On a boat with a bulbous bow they normally have a pictogram on the bow as a warning of what's below the surface. Perhaps pictograms, on the bow, stern and sides, depicting the stabiliser wings, might go some way to preventing accidents if other ships come alongside. Anyway, as always.... Massive Respect 😀👍

@@ProjectBrupeg The Argentinian Navy when they come along side for an inspection in their RIB might take that the wrong way. Or they could use it to drive their boats up on to, and if you put a few foot holds on the stabiliser brace it could be a easy access point in and out of the water. 😀👍

Has survey requirement changed for bilge pumps? I ran a fishing charter boat back in the 90's in Qld. 50" trawler style, and it only had 12v electric pumps and it was in Survey, Had a Jabsco deckwash pump driven off the engine, but wasnt plumbed for Bilge, but i guess not hard to drop the inlet hose off and use it for that. but essentially it only had the 12v one and an old hand pump that needed priming before it would work,
@ProjectBrupeg3 жыл бұрын
New survey rules are pretty tough compared to older. My understanding is if you have a boat in say 1990 survey and you never let it fall out then the 1990 rules apply right the way through but if you drop survey at any stage it’s the new rules for you. I’ve seen a few trawled go to extraordinary lengths to maintain old survey

If the ring floats on water but not on fuel, it's an indicator About tidy wiring: The current through the batteries is decided by the size of the wire and total length Basically, if the positive and negative on each battery add up to the same length on all the batteries, the current will be balanced. Basically you could shorten the positive on one side and the negative on the other, and shorten both on the middle battery, as long as each total length is the same.
@ProjectBrupeg3 жыл бұрын
That was part of the issue. The battery furtherest away set the length for the other two

@@ProjectBrupeg Looks like you are using 32 sq mm cable rated at 150 amps. It would take about 6000 metres per OHM. In the scheme of things a 1/2 metre variation would be almost unmeasurable. Wouldnt matter if you cut the cables to dress. When it comes to small wires length matters.
