Thanks for the video. I have a 910 sq ft garage I applied it to. I was about a quart short when applying the second coat based on the application instructions. Just letting people know for reference. I then purchased more and did a 3rd coat. Every coat makes it glossier and glossier hiding roller marks. It is perfectly clear so it doesn't hide anything underneath. Try heating the diesel stain with a torch until it burns to ash (turns grey). You would probably have to re seal the part that you heated. Start in a small spot and wear safety glasses because water in the concrete can make it pop when heated.

@@JohnEngel Going further would be to put gas on the diesel to dilute it, light it on fire (to burn what you can) and then torch it. Also, could try sanding off the sealer and putting (slightly) soapy water on the diesel to see if the soapy water can get under it and get it to float to the surface. Let dry, then torch. Techniseal oil remover is the best product but your sealer may block it.

I have a really important question if someone were to be so kind to answer me. I am looking to Epoxy coat my garage with the rustoleum kit and I have used it before before getting my garage concrete redone. The product was good but the only pitfall of the product was that there wasn’t really a glossy shine to it and it didn’t seem like there was a layer over the base epoxy paint. I later found out that in order to get this effect you have to buy a separate clear coat over the Epoxy. Looking online I see that for a single gallon of that clearcoat from the same brand rustoleum it’s about $100. It’s likely that I’m going to need two of these cans of clear coat so that means $200. My question is, is it possible to use the rust oleum epoxy kit and then instead of using the clearcoat from rustoleum use this instead as the clearcoat over the epoxy. Thank you

I cam live with a few scratches here and there - especially if I can slap $100 worth of sealer on it every couple of years. I ripped out the carpets because while my carpet cleaner works really well, doing it every other day was a drag and I was concerned about moisture permeating my pressboard subfloor hence the epoxy. I ran it all the way to the bottom edge of the drywall, so a puddle can't work it's way through the gap that way either. Kitchen is the next project - ratty old vinyl floor covering. Gotta decide whether to do ripped plywood like I did in the bedroom - looks great and dirt cheap - or epoxy, or epoxy and then the clear coat. They sure do. You can ask them to add an aggregate to the mix, this will help prevent slipping.

I am looking to apply this to a floor that is in pretty rough condition but is already painted. We are going to apply another coat of killz to clean it up a bit and then apply this product. Is this safe to do? Or will it bleed through and cause a mess?

Also I must add it’s just for a studio for photography where there is just foot traffic no heavy machinery or things possibly leaking.
@JohnEngel2 жыл бұрын
@@blake9556 technically, this product is supposed to be used on a bare concrete floor. This allows the product to actually penetrate the flooring and create a barrier. I have not use this on a pre-painted floor so I would be a little worried about that.
