So I’ve never fished with a live scope before… I have the UHD 93 SV. So I already have the unit and just need the ice fishing transducer. If you had to, what would you go with if you needed to get into live scope fishing. I guess I just don’t wanna be disappointed with the PS 22 if the LVS 32 is that much better. Ughhh… decisions!

This was the exact video that put me in decision that this is the thing I want to try out! Got one from happy angler store. Let's see what performance it will show in Latvia and Estonia during 24/25 ice fishing season😅 Thank You! Waiting for more!

Made my own pole for my lvs34. 18" when compacted and will do up to 2 foot of ice. Sits to side of the hole so isn't in the way. Total cost less than 50.

All you need is 6 grand for livescope and hole hopper. Used to be 400 for a flasher and some proper technique, an ice blue and some jigs. Now that is still fun. My 80 year old dad said fish know how to swim. Keep chasing them with more money!

I think you got the first video out using it on the ice, heck yeah! Appreciate the insights and footage! When you get a chance can you weigh it? I'd love to know the exact weight, for some reason I have been under the impression it is somewhere between 12-14 lbs.
@JoeHollandFishing4 ай бұрын
Thanks buddy! For some reason I had it in my head it was seven but I think you’re right. I threw an Amped Lithium small battery in it to cut even more weight

@JoeHollandFishing heck yeah! The first upgrade anyone should do (imo) with that setup is swap that lead acid battery out for sure, easy way to lose ~3 lbs and make it even lighter! Excited to see how you use it this season coming up

I'm a Garmin guy but lowrance's new eagle eye 9 will be a better buy for anyone looking at a sub $1500 ice unit. Not having to adjust the transducer every time you want to switch orientation from forward to down is extremely convenient. Why Garmin ditched the LVS 12 transducer instead of improving on it is a missed opportunity IMO.

I wouldn’t spend $2,000 on old technology when you have newest tech at a price just a bit more. if they just sell the cable for few hundred I would think more would buy it for their old units. I seen a video on this unit about 2 weeks ago and thought garmin was taking greedy to another level. Buy the newest technology and don’t regret a expensive purchase (that goes for almost anything)
@JoeHollandFishing4 ай бұрын
I understand what you are saying . I think this is more as a sidekick to the livescope, or a great entry level initiative and also great lightweight unit with ffs for the hope hoppers that fish a hundred spots a day. It’s just another tool that when used correctly can be incredibly efficient and helpful. It will be in my arsenal. I thought I saw MSRP around $1899 and usually stores sell it for less . The clamshell transducer and no need for a pole are big gains same with no black box

This needs to be way cheaper $1800 is not doable for the average ICE fisherman. I spent a couple thousands dollars 2 years ago on ice fishing gear, then last year for the first time in my life we didnt even have safe ice all the way to Canada so they think people are going to shell out $1800 or more in a Biden economy with the threat of a "Kamilaw" as the next ZAR of UnAmerica yeah sure.
