CIG about the BMM: "We wannna build up and train our ship team, regain the lost knowlege, so we can do it right." Me seeing the Syulen: "BRO LET THIS TEAM DO THE BMM, THEY'RE READY" Amazing design.

They did say that they wanted to tackle smaller projects first to help build up their new team. So got all we know, this is actually possible for them to eventually be working on BMM but we will have to wait and see

I hate to say it but I think my brand new Cutter Scout is at risk. That Syulen is looking real nice.

Yeah, I'm logging in soon to say goodbye to my cutter. If I upgrade from my cutter to this ship the LTI carries over right?

@@Dzantro Yes, when upgrading everything besides the original ship is preserved. Insurance, any paints or FPS gear etc.

@@Dzantro As long as you use a CCU and don't melt your starter package the insurance will carry over. You might even get lucky and get a Warbond CCU option which will save you a bit more.

I think we're starting to be a bit too focused on "big crossection = useless in combat".. If you do the math on its area, it's only the 3 prongs that give it a huge crossection. And the actual negative space around them is about +80%. Meaning 80% of the shots will NOT hit anything, but will go between the 3 prongs. Granted, the central core is quite large too, but nowhere near as large as the rest. I mean we thought the Karthu-Al was useless in combat too because we listened to A1 saying "huge profile = useless". But then it became one of the most deadly ships back when CIG buffed its maneuverability, and even POST-nerf a mouse and keyboard user flew it in the Atmo pvp tournament, and did NOT get absolutely wrecked, he actually did pretty good, against Arrows and Sabres... So obviously crossection isnt everything.

The crosssection isn't everything but it does make you a bigger target, especially with shields up as the shields have to go beyond every part of your ships

I think I had the exact same reaction to the Syulan that you did “OMG, this thing is so COOOOL… Wow, it’s big… Gosh I hope it has some good shields… Yo, this better run like hell at the mere scent of PvP.” 😂

The Syulen is on Erkul now, 3xs3 guns. Tons of missiles (for its size, 3xs4 racks, bespoke with 4 s2 missiles per rack). Handling profile is same as Nomad in role/pitch/yaw and top speed is slightly higher. Syulen has way more acceleration and more than twice the QF capacity. Basically, Nomad moves vehicles and is tankier, while the Syulen is more agile, less tanky, longer range (for now CIG is rebalancing all small fuel tanks), and better armed.

I can see a lot of Titans and Nomads being turned into a Syulen. This might be a pretty common ship in the verse. INB4 they pull a cutty steel and the ship is $200. For $80 to $90 though, it is a compelling choice.

What the AA Storm looks like, is a Stealth Tank from CnC (even more so from Tiberian Sun and Renegade) and it's Glorious

Somehow i would have preferred the storm to be a tevarin hover tank, like a tevarin counterpart for the Nova during the war.

I'm with you on the rocks. I like rocks, but I want some smooth terrain. One of my favourite places to just drive a jetbike is the lake on MT, but imagine having giant open plains with nothing but grass. Visually boring, yes, but it would be an absolute thrill to just get in a ground vehicle and gun the engine. Especially if more PoIs get added and you're doing that to get someplace.

The Gatac reminds me of the Romulan mining ship torpedo's in Star Trek. Super cool. I will have one. Thank you CIG for lightening my wallet a bit more.

This ship is so unbelievably cool. But I had the same thought the second I saw it. This thing either better be really fast, really maneuverable, or have some beefy shields. That cross section man. Basically giving your opponent a giant flying crosshair to hit. This is definitely not a combat ship, not even close. And thats ok. Basically just a really fancy daily driver.

Yeah, as soon as I saw the leaks (and now even more with the in-game model) I thought of the Corsair and its massive cross-section. I bet it's going to be hard to drop missile locks.

3:41 looks like 2x s1 shields edit: 12:55 maybe, but going by lore Gatac is a purely industrial ship manufacturer.

I have high hopes for the BMM seeing this new alien ship. Regarding ground vehicles, they need a saviour on that team. Ground vehicles drive like boxes on a single middle wheel.

I want to see aliens in this game. It would make the game more interesting when you see aliens and their ships ingame. Socializing would be on another level.

it's wild to think about how the syulen has the same amount and size of hardpoints as the gladius, but it is a larger target. I think capable pilots wont struggle as much, but it definitely shouldn't be sticking around for a lot of fights, especially if they're not even remotely compotent fighters

Why is that wild to think about? The Gladius is a pure-bred military fighter who's *sole* purpose is to fight. It can't do anything else but fight. The Syulen is a multi-purpose consumer ship.

@@NukeMyHouse it is kind of wild to me that a general purpose starter ship has the same size and number of weapon mounts, shield generators, and everything else as a dedicated fighter. I am not complaining about it. And maybe my words there in the original comments aren't the best words I could have used.

You can bind a rear view camera in the settings. That would make a pretty good landing camera for this ship, I think.

Syulen is tiny only about the size of an arrow in length, a size 2 shield would be to much.

but a third shield would be perfect ,it already has 3 cannons ,3 missile rack and a triangle shape. For me it's not a starter ship but an advanced starter ship, like the avenger, nomad, 300i, reliant, ...

12 missiles is too much for a "starter ship" doesn't a CB have 8?
