I personally would have worked with more realistic G force drawbacks and pilot fatigue mechanics to nerf down fighters while still maintaining performance potential, somewhat realistic immersion and the like. Fighters are supposed to do swooping (jousting) attack runs. You can counter it by encouraging cap ship play, mercenaries, and forcing the fight to a turret clump. This is using duct tape and hot glue to fix something that they had the tools to fix anyhow.

video starts, i already hate 3.23 what is that junk in the middle of the screen even supposed to read? "i can't take anything serious after this." - the feeling is mutual with your video title.

We're new to SC (2 weeks) but MM feels more like elite-dangerous to us (more realistic, more difficult) and 3.22 feels more like no man's sky. We're fine with the change, but we're also not having to un-learn years of muscle memory. Lower overall speeds and having to shut down your shield to go fast is a big change, I can see why people are afraid of it. They'll get used to it.

Hold down your boost and switch to NAV. You won't lose any speed. A guy on Reddit told us this, I tried it and it works.

For MM it would almost be more interesting to have power distribution heavily affect limits of all 3 corners of the power triangle: weapon output (maybe targeting speed and pip accuracy), shields and thrusters

As a racer, I appreciate your opinion highlighted at 7:24 ❤ also yeah the fury doesn't feel the same cos the tri-chording nerfs messed up the way the fury flies... And the lack of NAV mode just makes it too slow to race anything other than snake pit

Can you hotkey flight modes or do you have to switch/scroll through them all to get to the one you want? Also switching to Nav mode (not quantum mode) should be an instant switch imo, hopefully it’ll keep progressing and get tuned more/better 🤙🏻

It feels to drifty because they removed trichording. Most people just don't understand what we have lost by removing trichording.

An F8 that CHOOSES to stay and rate fight 1v1 vs. a Gladius really should lose. Same would happen if a Corsair tried to turn with a Zero. The difference between the two scenarios is that the F8 pilot has much more time to figure out the error of his ways and get gone before it is too late.

I don't need a qd for snubs. I just need to be able to place a marker to fly towards. Tbh, it doesn't take too long to fly around a moon but without a marker, it's pointless.

One more thought… in the last SC Live show they did with the the UI team, Bones (BONES) pointed out that one of the reasons why it can take a while for a seemingly simple fix to appear is that they are always trying to find a systemic fix vs a band-aid. I can see racing in particular exposing some sticky issues and finding a design pattern that makes sense is going to take more time. “Just tune the racing ships” may be a deeper problem than we know. This would be a good time for someone at CIG to do a really candid discussion of this just like the guy did for the cargo elevator (which should be the new measuring stick for all CIG communications going forward).
@mrbaglog

I agree with your take- the Gladius has had the most amount of time as a MM ship, and so when it is a clearly superior choice for racing that definitely points to a “we ran out of time” situation. How to tune is going to be interesting to watch. I would love to see the answer be something like 70% innate to the ship and 30% components. So maybe I can make the most racing-est Aurora ever, but and the end of the day I still have the space equivalent of a lowered Honda civic with an after market exhaust. Better than other civics, but still not favored to win in Le Mans. Regardless, I really respect racers and combat pilots for finding these issues, though. Space Dads like me are never going to push the envelope of ship performance. Just like in our world today, high performance environments like combat and racing can really stress test people and technology.

Just wait a few patches, people act like CIG isn't going to tune it all in, SC Community need to stop pressuring CIG for stuff they're actually doing, as for MM, yeah ok, throw it all away for the people that don't like it, watch them moan at how long the game is taking and delays, they're part of the problem unfortunately.

Brother we gotta stop this "everything needs to be skilled" there are plenty of things that can just be point and click. What missile IRL do you know that needs skill? There simple, lock on to some type of source (heat, ir etc) and attack the target. The only skill is the person trying to evade it.
@StoneCoolds
@StoneCoolds 20 күн бұрын
Making missiles be effective in DCS world is not just point and click, it requires a lot more tasking and knowing your radar and enemies radars, old heat seekrs require skill to be in the right position and know it can make the turn or the wez is not jam, plus you need to know how to swich btwn all the different radar and acm modes, so far more than point and click lol
@ddavis5442
@ddavis5442 20 күн бұрын
@StoneCoolds that's way too much for missiles... even the Rprs don't want that lol What you really want is missiles to be too much of a pain to use so no one uses it, let's be real lol

I love the traversal around the verse with MM but. My main gripe with MM is the fact that when you boost and let go it artificially pulls your speed back down even when in decoupled. That one change would improve MM massively. There are so many good things about it but this is a big issue for the the way it feels and plays

Your wings are still tucked in so your thrusters on the fury were not kicking out to full range of motion. I have no idea why the fury defaults to wings in configuration in AC, but its troll dude.

imo its really easy to fix Racing in Master modes. Take the M50, the Razor and any other racing ship and remove their weapon points and shield gens completely into a pure racing variant (then you can keep the M50 as a pure interceptor for example, which it is in lore etc) Then CIG have a logical point to say "this isn't a ship that's got less mess for bringing less with it, its a purpose built racing ship, every circuit that was dedicated to shields and weapons is now dedicated to racing in every way" And then you can hypertune the racer ships to be less drifty etc, give them completely different numbers to tehir combat versions; because all the logic of decreasing speeds etc in MM for combat won't apply, because no guns....no combat. (Yes you can become the size 9 torpedo, but thats true regardless) The Fury LX is the only racing ship that is purely racing, and I see no reason why it can't have really strongly different numbers to the armed furies)

It’s still too easy to escape I think. I thought there was supposed to be to be a bunch of delay to spilling while taking fire? Multi crew should be the most powerful ships in the game if crewed effectively.

I'm confused if Mantis is designed to pull you out of quantum so they can kill you why your ship fly away ... either Mantis is broken/bugged because it doesn't perform it's designed role or something is wrong with this game

22:37 Respectfully Berks, No.. it's not nearly as bad as in MM. I agree with you on many things but this is one I will never. You also stated in this video that one of your issues with 3.22 flight model is it's rare to find people who fight you "the right way" (14:27). Berks.. nobody, not even CIG should get to dictate what the "right way" to fight is. People should be allowed to fight in whatever way they deem fit. 11:08 If the flight model is SUPPOSED to be like WW2 in space then pendulum tactics, a.k.a. "boom and zoom" was one of the primary forms of engagement taught to pilots and used EXTENSIVELY from 1941 to 1945. MM is not WW2 in space, it's boxing.. staring at each-other, moving in/out, sometimes strafing around, and punching each-other in the face. Edit: Still liking vid because you're one of the only dudes who will admit that MM isn't the holy grail of the flight models and still needs lots of work.
@ChrisPFuchs
@ChrisPFuchs 27 күн бұрын
"it's rare to find people who fight you "the right way" - eh, I mean his statement was in reference to what he deems fun in the 3.22 fight model. It's in reference to a completely subjective opinion, i.e, he likes the 3.22 pvp flight style when players are pushy as opposed to Jousting or Backstrafing but in general he likes the 3.23 flight model.
@RaiuShinohana
@RaiuShinohana 26 күн бұрын
@@ChrisPFuchs I've watched many of Berks' videos (granted this was taken from a livestream) and he's always been well-spoken and does his best to make sure what he says can't be misinterpreted. The way it came off is that he deems opponents who Joust, use stealth, or hit and run tactics as not fighting "the right way" and if that is indeed what he means (I could be wrong) that's a horrible take. Bottom line this game will NEVER be WW2 in space as long as we have 6dof. That mechanic contradicts the physics of modern aerial combat. Unless they nerf strafe speed and acceleration into the ground (and I mean like 20m/s MAX even with boost) it will not work.
@ChrisPFuchs
@ChrisPFuchs 26 күн бұрын
@@RaiuShinohana Yeah he could have worded that better. Just clarifying the context of 'the right way' was in terms of what makes 3.22 fun for him. I can see how people would take that poorly from how he worded it. Also, I agree, the WW2 combat seems difficult with 6dof.

C2 vs 3 pirates situation was a bad demonstration Community is dumping the features and improvment before have been tested and combat approuved. Try to change their mind No offens ! It should be better to show an " escape situation" on a "outpost" for exemple. With full speed + full shield triangle mannagement + Shield power up back or left or right side + evasive manoeuvers + energy (speed) mannagements. Just for check "how many time", in a very very very bad situation, the "solo player" can move in a safe area or not. Thanks for your videos, i know it required work ! I would like youtuber shows more "solutions" for confort the player on the next update.... Too many players "mediatically" are crying after MM and PvP part because they are simple civilian / solo / starfield player and doesn try to have a situation awareness !

There should have been at least more balanced than this. Saw this coming a mile a way when they barely tested racing MM and the fact that only combat ships seemed to have gotten a bulk of balance. This really shouldn’t be a default stats and then tweak over time type of deal even if it means. An extra year to add it

what nav mode does for Reclaimers is allow you to Travel MAx speed and drop out of Nav mode 3km from your claim and stop on a dime because of it. bascially the SCM speed slow down is instant by killing your QD and with a little practice you don't overshoot at all. i don't care about combat. i find remote turrets in the reclaimer suck still anyway. I care little about other ships past maybe the HULL C which till they fix DOCKING bugs won't be using regularly at all.

Ship speed limitations are great, they keep fights close, prevent endless kiting, etc. But ship agility shouldn't have been reduced. That's what makes mirror matchups feel like dull DPS races AND it promotes backstrafing since the pursuer boosting forward loses even more agility due to anti-trichording thruster dampening. If small ships have high agility but low velocity guns while big ships have high velocity guns, fighters can dogfight with skill and still be vulnerable to big ship turrets.
