I like it. Modular is the direction I've been going too. It just makes sense. Not every outing is the same.

Hi Blackie, good stuff! At first glance I would say that you have the small pouch mounted upside down, Try this, put it on the strap with the zipper facing the mid-line of your body, with the pull loop at the bottom. The pouch will be unzipped when the zipper is at the bottom and closed when it is pulled up (just like your pants) :) This will allow you to hold the pull loop and pull up on the zipper, which should make closing the pouch more convenient, (no sliding up and down along the shoulder strap.) Try it this way I think you'll like it. Regards and best to you and yours, hi to Mrs. Hope!

I think it would be interesting to see some anchor points added to the haversack strap itself for improvised carry of a knife sheath or for quick clip on clip off products.

I use a foam pad in a pocket of my haversack. Just big enough to sit on. Takes up very little space.

Awesome combination of items. Looks like you could carry the pad with the haversack. Clip the tabs to the haversack strap & hang it between you & the bag for padding.

Add a Velcro panel on the small pouch - then can have multiple pouches for different uses distinguished by what patch is on it - fishing / FAK / whatever

Good ideas. Could add a smaller one for folks who use a GPS or 2 way radios. When are you making or selling more haversack please Blackie?

Good accessories. I see you have have the same problem I do with shirts gettting holes near the corners of the pockets. I have two loops on the back of every pair of jeans that does the same thing.

That is the problem with modularity...you need to know the situatare working. working.By having kit that is multi use and knowing how to use it in all situations and being able to use it when thinking outside the box is KEY.Eventually your haversack will be the size of your pack.

The pad can also serve as an emergency short term floatation device if you are near or attempting to cross a body of water

You could use a paracord cobra weave around your havre sack strap for extra padding. Wouldn’t interfere with your pouches

I wanna ask this but please understand I’m not asking to be offensive. Let me start with. I like the haversack idea. But your losing me with all this add-ones. Maybe I’m wrong but I picture a haversack to be a day item away from camp or car. Something to throw food water and gear just in case. I don’t understand why you need all this stuff when a pack would be more comfortable. Even more better for our older body’s (I say this because with one strap it tends to make you lean). I like a haversack to go scouting with just seems everything is getting gear heavy. Which is the exact opposite of my training. The more you know the less you need. Even Mors said that same thing. I was trained by old ww2, Korea , an Vietnam veterans. One man survived Burma. I spent a lot of time with old civil war re-enactors. My other training was courtesy of Uncle Sam. US Army first I was airborne infantry then Ranger training which was called rip. Then Ranger school I was part of Ranger school for 3 years. Back then it had a desert phase In Utah. But the military decided Utah was to cold in winter. So we moved to Texas Ft bliss. So my training was in mountains then swamp ,desert ,and extreme high desert winter. I find it funny when KZbin people act like I’m just a guy in a basement. Anyway I guess my main question is what are you using the haversack for? Just seems like many KZbin people are loading these things up for days in the woods, that just doesn’t make sense. Do you recommend it as a day bag? I find it lacking in even that. I guess to me it’s a great bag for my day in woods fishing. But in that case I have 2 bags. The haversack is in with my other gear. I guess what mission or missions do you find it better then a backpack or a water pack with a few pocket, like the marine filbe.
