Yay!!! Can’t wait to see what you decide to hike this year!! Matt and I r planning to start another few segments of the CT! Not sure what he ones we will do for sure. We r thinking of possibly starting on 3 No hiking 3-6. And then this winter, depending on the weather over Christmas break, going back and doing 1 & 2. They r such hot segments. Have u ever heard anyone doing that? Anyway. As always loved the video and hope to see you ( & your wife) out on Trail!

Wow! Great video. My husband and I plan on continuing our MN State Park hiking where our goal is to hike every state park, with maybe some overnights. Your shpeel on Leuko tape has my interest and l’m going to get a roll. It would be nice to also get a backpack for day hiking. Your details of the camera have inspired me to start filming my hikes. 😊 Mine will be with my iPhone. Ya gotta start somewhere, huh?

Hey J!! Great video as usual... It is indeed planning season AGAIN. Yay! I was lucky enough to score a JMT permit this year (On my first try 😎). Have you done this hike? If so- Would you ever consider doing a series? Watching your CT planning videos helped me SO much doing that one last year. Looking forward to the next video. Cheers!

You got the JMT permit?! I did it in 2018 going NoBo and LOVED it. Very different from the CT in a lot of great ways (and some not great ways--it's a bit harder mile-by-mile). You are going to love it out there, and I will see what I can do about putting together some helpful tips for that one. Can't wait to hear how your adventure goes!

Nice gear! Im glad Feathered Friends figured out how to use the internet and shipping lol. I planned a trip to CO so I could buy a Melly 😂 FF is a great company for sure. I’ve paired down my gear to be as light as possible but I’m not sure I could get away with a 30L bag except for the most perfect of conditions. 36L has been the smallest I’ve gone. I do have a tarp but I use it in the spring/fall. The bugs are too evil here to use it in the summer.

I loveeee my Feathered Friends gear, and I am a little nervous about the 30L pack but I feel reasonably confident that I can make it work. The CT only has a couple sections with bugs, so the tarp worked for me one year for about 250 miles, but the rains made me grateful for my Six Moons Designs tarp tent. Can't wait to get to hike with you in a few months!

Snackbox, I feel like I know you already - especially since you met my friends Five Star and Sage. My own plans for 2022 are some CT section hiking out west in mid July and then the Collegiate Loop in Aug-Sept. Then in 2023/24 the Long Trail and JMT. THANK YOU for your super-informative videos. That is the PERFECT time to launch on a CT through hike. Take lots of sunscreen and memory for your camera. Can't wait to see how it goes for you!

Really like my Zulu, but only use it for day hikes. Not that gear slimed down yet. Luco tape is the stuff!!! I will always stick it to sticker backing paper from now on. Rolled it around a pen for the CT last summer, and it would not unroll itself. Had to go several days, without it before I picked some up in my resupply. One last thought... .never turn down a JMT permit!!! Great video.

That's great insight about the tape on the pen. I hope people read that so they don't end up with tape they can't use. You have any good adventures coming up this year?? Hope you're staying safe and warm in your neck of the woods!

Great video! Some awesome items here! Did you know there's a setting in GoPro to eliminate that fish eye effect? I think it's the 'linear' option under the video settings. Don't know why it's defaulted to that warped looked.
