What do you think of the limited-edition AAA flame top on this Gibson Les Paul Standard '60s? Let us know in the comments! 🤘

Guitar Center needs to start taking pictures and weights of individual guitars like other retailers do, at least when they're $2500-$3,000 and up. I own over a dozen Gibsons and would NEVER buy a Les Paul from Guitar Center (or any other retailer) sight unseen with no knowledge of what the figuring looks like, how much it weighs, what the fretboard looks like or if there are factory flaws. I know you do this for *some* one of a kind guitars but you need to do this for the high end production guitars too if you expect people to order them online. Not only that, many of these sit in a store and get handled, so they are no better than a "demo". At least consider photographing and weighing the stock in your warehouse that hasn't been hung on a wall.
@Darth.Shredder7 ай бұрын
@dv8322 Well, you can see them "in person" at a store *if* they actually have any in stock, which is not often. The last time I walked into a Guitar Center they had two Gibsons... one SG and one Les Paul.... and neither looked "new" anymore. Of course, they can order you one but then you still have to pay for it and won't know what it will look like until it gets there, hence the problem.

I love how she stops and takes a moment to explain things, she's not just jamming and flipping switches, has a great rationale on why and what she's playing and how it could be used in a song.

Her technique is the epitome of textbook perfect. You can tell that from day 1 of her guitar journey she's always been painstakingly diligent about this. Not that there aren't any amazingly fantastic guitar players out there that don't adhere to any rules. That works for some people. But Angela's adherence to technique clearly plays a huge role in her virtuosity. Unimaginable heights are more attainable if you've built a large solid foundation to launch from, and she's testament of that.

@@JackPeters-g5z Great for her. She deserves it. She's been working hard. I honestly don't know how she finds time to do it all. But sucks for us. I'm gonna miss seeing her playing small venues right near my home where I don't have to deal with traffic and large crowds. I suspect those days are just about over.

Wow, great job, I just bought the same guitar myself a month ago, nice seeing confirmation on my choice. Although she sounds a whole lot better than me. I am 60 and getting back into playing again only have a few years of experience. I am running though the same Marshall 4x12 cab and am using a Marshal JVM 410h. Now I am getting into pedals too. Thanks for inspiring me! I still love my classic rock songs.
@anthonycohea45656 ай бұрын
I personally believe the best way to demo the Les Paul is straight into the amp. No pedals no effects. Just straight into the amp and use the volume and tone pots with the volume cranked. Just my opinion. I love my Gibson standard 50’s Les Paul. It’s my numero uno!

Remember to have fun. Tons of YT guitar channels will keep bringing you to scales, shapes and theory but it's a lot more fun to just learn a couple of chords and notes and play around with them till you get comfortable. Then you'll find something of your own that sounds good and is fun to play. I enjoyed guitar much more when I took the work out of it and stopped trying to sound like the pros. I'm not going to be Eddie Van Halen and that's ok.

Yeah the riff at the start sounds cool but I think it gets a bit muddy with the pedals later on In to it. Jimmy Page and Angus Young actually played relatively clean through cranked Marshals with natural warm break up, Just some friendly constructive criticism❤

I could get more enthusiastic about this video if Gibson didn't charge $3K plus for LPs that often come with QC issues both cosmetic and functional. Any $3K guitar, aside from maybe adjusting the action, should be perfect out of the box. I just got an Epi ES-335 and (aside from a few minor setup issues) is perfect and I paid $600 including gig bag. There are several reputable Asian manufacturers making LP style guitars for a fraction of the Gibson USA LPs price with the same specs and no major QC issues AND they play and sound great!

How bout playing it clean without effects to hear it’s True Tone . as I remember the 60’s many records had Les Pauls😢 played clean with beautiful tone . This sounds muddy and mushy… Also if you’re going to have someone play distortion have them play something recognizable like the intro to “Money For Nothing” …something that lots of guitarist play instead of non sensical noodling….

*Yeah, I'm more worried about guitar going out tune when you abuse it by bending the strings. This chick's delicate fingers wouldn't bend it as hard even with extra light gauge strings and tuned a step down. She'd barely hold any note long enough to demonstrate the sutstain.*

Turn the treble up on your amps and drop the bass a bit. Also, it's YT. It's not gonna sound like how they do in real life.

You realize there's something called an EQ........ it depends how each person sets it all up. She also played a lot on the neck pickup towards the end. The 60s Standard is actually very bright. Some people consider it "too" bright.

This demo of what is probably a great guitar is spoilt by the use of distortion in the signal path. We don't really get to hear the true tone of the guitar. Its almost impossible to compare the Gibson to other guitars as the contribution of guitar wood, pickups etc, is masked by the distortion which is pretty awful. I have been a warranty repairer and service agent for several high profile guitar brands for a couple of decades and can make almost any guitar sound like this demo with a selection of distortion effects. We have to look elsewhere to really hear the true tone and great features of this beautiful Gibson. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ioSumXaipayljtE
