Looking forward to what? More of all this great new music huhh? Sorry, last 15yrs or so, music kinda stated dieing out. So sad. Seems nothing to make music about.

I wish I played so fantastic and had such incredible gigs that owning a pricey guitar like that would make sense. But although I have toured and gigged for 40+ years, been an authorized repair tech for multiple guitar brands and have done a lot of session work, I see no reason why one of those should be added to my set of music tools. I'd feel silly playing a 4000$ guitar at a gig that paid me 150$.

@@endezeichengrimm Oh! I was just funnin'... I have been blessed to play gi-tar fer a livin' fer almost 5 decades. 95%of my recent gigs for the last 4or 5 years were done on a 155$ Grote 335-ish thing and a 89$ Grote strat with 33$ worth of Chineeeese Alnicos. I am old. I do it just to poke fun at guys with booo-tique amps and pricey git-tars. I use cheap fly rods too...whew ! Fly fisherman guys are worse than guys using a 4000$ gi-tar at a 100 dollar gig. I am just kiddin' folks...I'd say the same on stage. Some folks would laugh.

This exact model guitar is at my local guitar center and it’s the only Gibson LP that is not locked up so every time I’m in the store I pick it up and play it. Feels and sounds so good I’ve been tempted many times to bring it home. I feel like Wayne saying “it will be mine, oh yes it will be mine”

I always joke, but actually serious. Gibson Les Paul, one of the greatest inventions of all time. The tone, the wood, the feel of the neck, the vibration, the control, and the smell of a vintage LP.

I love the Les Paul, but they are overpriced, and I'm not sure they bring much more to the table. I just bought an Epiphone 1959 LP Standard Outfit ADCB (limited edition), and I am very happy with it. The value for money is much better, and it looks stunning in dark aged cherry sunburst. It has the Les Paul shape that I adore. Epiphone, to me, is a success by Gibson. And Angela is always beautiful and a talented guitar player.

That's how you sell guitars folks. Actually, that is a particularly good sounding example. Someday I'll get a Les Paul. Die hard parts caster person. A Les Paul has that heavy sound a Telecaster is hard pressed to cover.

Looks great, sounds great. Prices on Gibsons are still way too high compared to other brands. Worse, they are driving to prices for Epiphone as well, which is an alarming trend. The wood used today came from trees that were harvested years before COVID and worker salaries haven't risen for the cost of living changes so it's simply greed.

@@KevinDarty Jesus Christ...here we go. The Original list price for the first Les Paul Sunburst was $265.00 in 1956 (add $42.50.00 if you wanted a case, and add $30.00 if you wanted the deluxe case zipper cover). So, when adjusted for inflation (which is something YOU HAVE TO DO) comes out to $3,000.00 in 2024 dollars. This is an average inflation rate of 3.70% and cumulative inflation of 1,053.97%. In other words the VALUE of one dollar from then to now. Keep in mind the median home price in the United States in 1950 was $7,354.00 (Source: U.S. Census Bureau) Know what you're talking about before talking sh!t.

@@SHOWWHITE "Or else everyone would be happy with a current standard"? Not sure I've heard an adult speak with that level of absolution, but whatever. I have four current 50s & 60s standards, and they are all awesome. Most people don't take the time (or don't know how) to tune their humbuckers. Not to mention using the middle position in the way like Angela demonstrated.
@SHOWWHITE4 ай бұрын
@@HALWASRIGHT Then I'd appreciate some guidance on tuning the pickup of my Les Paul. I've already tried adjusting the pole piece and pickup heights, but I haven't found the right balance yet. My current issue is that the neck pickup, especially in the higher register on the 6th string, has an overpowering bottom end. This seems common in many current Les Pauls, including my two limited edition Murphy painted and aged ones. Since these are collectible guitars, replacing the pickups isn't an option as it would decrease their value. Could you offer any advice on how to improve the tone while preserving the original hardware?
