Hey bro, I just applied to Fanshawe college, London. The course is civil engineering technology, a three year advanced diploma which has 12 months of co-op. I just wanted to ask you about the course or about the jobs in the construction and geotechnical sector if you happen to know anything about it. I initially wanted to take mining engineering technology but with civil I can go into mining, construction, water resources, environmental or any other sector too but the salary won't be as high as a pure mining course. I just wanted to know if you would suggest me to go with civil or mining. Btw I'll be completing 12th and will go after that. Thanks!

"Civil engineering technologists and technicians 22300" is not a prioritized STEM occupation announced by IRCC in 2023. You won't qualify for STEM category Express Entry draws with lower CRS cutoffs. You qualify for general Express Entry draws with very high CRS cutoffs (500 and above). Your best bet is PNP. Review Ontario PNP (OINP) to see your chances. Otherwise, you might have to move to another province after graduation for easier PNP.

@@smwk2017 Thanks for the information dude. Would it be considered as a certificate of qualification from a province as we get certified with the technologists and technicians association upon graduation? And what other fields are prioritised under the stem category.
