Check out the recent progress at our New Glenn rocket factory at Cape Canaveral. We are testing flight operations with the giant stage 1 simulator, producing flight hardware, and growing the integration and test facilities around the campus.

One could also argue that this stuff here is going on for almost 2 decades, while the stuff in Boca only for 2 maybe 3 years (with planning). So both havent made any money but we can be sure BO had to pay more in all these years. So actually Boca made less negative profit than BO. Checkmate

Ah, yes, the "curmudgeonly attitude" of "not being impressed by BO because they haven't done anything impressive". But, since you brought up Arianespace, are you trying to suggest that BO's ultimate aspirations are to reach Arianespace's level? 'cause I'm pretty sure they're aiming a bit higher, and thus should be judged according to their goals. For example, I am in fact reasonably impressed by Rocket Lab who, despite having far humbler goals (and resources) than BO, has done a much better job of accomplishing those goals.

@@ljviks22 I doubt Jeff cares about fans as much as Elon does^^ Amazon just wants their own satellites internet (PrimeNet?) and why should they fund another company if they can do it themselves - inhouse? It's the same SpaceX does with Starlink. The vast majority of commercial SpaceX flights nowadays are for themselves.
@BFAO1621
@BFAO1621 3 жыл бұрын
@@KsNewSpace you are quite wrong in terms of commercial flights...spacex last year launch 12 customer rockets and 14 for themeselfs, but this year they have planed 20 plus customer flights... so blue origin has a lot to catch up, but it seems that they only what to launch military or goverment payloads or else they wouldnt delayed the launch of new gleen for almost 2 yeas...they lost the new air force contracts and didnt like it, so for that they taking the construction slower because without does contracts no one is gonna buy there services... new gleen most likey will cost more than a falcon heavy and we already saw that most launches in the world are for rockets that do more like low earth orbit(flacon 9, etc) something that new gleen doesnt make sense to use.. so i dont see them launching more than 3 new glenn a year at least for customers, now for amazon satalites we may see more but for me blue origin did a great mistake with new gleen...they shouldnt have gonne from something so small as new shepeard and then go for something so big that its not gonna fly a lot...they should have build a competitor for falcon 9, but for them to go for something so big and for GEO makes me believe and others say the same, there target its not commercial flights, its military contracts...that its not gonna give them the experience they need. they already very slow and talk more then what they show for it...in all this videos they were always making comparasions with spacex facilities and rockets( indirectly)... if they what to gain customers and gain military contracts they have to show what they can do, its not delaying programs because they didnt like it that ULA and spacex got the contracts they wanted... without results and something to show they will never gain does contracts... look at new shepeard, its supose to take people to sub orbital but in 21 years they have nothing to show for it...they need to take things fast and a good spirit of competion because so far jeff bazzos and blue origin only take things politicly( for example the plataform spacex uses 39A initial jeff asked that to senators, knowing that it was still nasa choice to chose who would use it because of him doing things that way spacex was given 39A). if jeff and blue origin what to make customers and gain experience, making fans is also part of it...do you think if someone doesnt like you they will give you anything? its time for blue orgin to step up and not delaying programs or they soon new gleen willl look like sls and take more that 2022 to launch. my impression is blue origin will have great rockets, in time, but they will launch very few and most being military contracts like ULA...just look at ULA last year they only launch 6 times compared to spacex 26 times, its with more launhes that you gain experience and prepare the future...thats whats jeff always said, that blue origin would be plataform for the future generations, so far and looking the way they go, that its more like spacex and other companies like rocket lab seem be doing. Sorry for the "book"!!!! just my opinion

"Competition gear up" I have nothing against Blue Origin, but I wouldn't call inaccurately calling the 23ft diameter the largest to fly (Starship is 29.5ft in D) and the almost two year delay gearing up the competition. By the time New Glen is attempting it's maiden flight, Starship will be flying payloads to leo regularly. I mean SN8 and 9 have already flown, SN10 and 11 (and almost 15) are ready to fly, and SN 16-18 are well under way to being complete. Again. I have nothing against Blue Origin, but they still have a ways to go until they are a true competitor in the Private "space race". Right now I'd give those spots to SpaceX, ULA, and Rocket Lab.
