I love this! I've wanted to start on my own grimoire for ages now but I'm the type of person who can't commit to bound pages and three ring binders look ugly to me, so a post bound book would be perfect. Looks more like a traditional book with the ability to add and take pages out with ease.

I was honestly surprised when I thought about what it would take to make it myself, the material and the cost, compared to the finished product. I'm going to build mine around a kraft paper binder (after removing the metal pieces and reattaching later), because I want a solid structure. But when I looked for other examples of self made books like this (that are refillable etc) I was surprised by all the different ways people have gone about creating a similar product. It really shows the creativity and personality of the individual.

I found that tutorial a while back as well, it's great isn't it!! I've got my binding post screws, and just received my dark grey faux leather. Looking forward to sorting it out. :)

Saving all of this (including the links--thank you)! The modifiable BoS seems to me the way to go if you're at all the sort who becomes an obsessive perfectionist in the face of fancy journals. For the moment my solution is to stick with basic black moleskin notebooks, but one day... One day.

This is amazing! I was wondering if you could please tell me...what dimensions did you use for the MDF/thick cardboard on the cover and back covers? In Jamie's tutorials, she says 8.5 x 10 inches, but usually paper comes in 8.5 x 11. I don't want to have my pages sticking out, and you've done it perfectly! Did you measure the MDF according to the paper size you used? Thanks in advance xx
