Thank you very much for that. I worked on that set when they were at Danbury. Good to see them out and about.

Great video of this beautiful equipment. I love how they chose so many iconic scenes and separated the lead engines for photo opportunities. Especially at Canaan with that freight scene they set up. Also, so many beautiful old stations. Interiors look amazing and the cab !! OMG!! Thanks for sharing this video and your still shots!

Great video, Mike! 😊 Since they were being towed, I’m taking it that the Rodger Williams still isn’t operational mechanically; have you heard anything about it being restored to operational status? The train looks gorgeous both externally and the interior as well (loved the New Haven ads about it installed inside! 😊). Tom

For many years this train was in a field located on Knight st. in Warwick R.I. just past the Pontiac Mills building. It looked like someone was going to try to make it into a diner, but never completed their plans. Then one day I noticed that they had moved the train and the property became a landscaping supply business.

Weren't these in Lincon NH?
@csxnstrainman6 ай бұрын
They were moved to the Berkshire Scenic Railway not long ago
@RedSkeletonGames6 ай бұрын
@@csxnstrainman Yes, but if I'm correct they formerly were in Lincoln NH. My grandfather and I were talking to Leo, the previous owner, and he let us take photos in the cab when I was probably around 12 years old. My grandfather's uncle was a mechanic for the NH back in the 50's and 60's. He serviced these RDCs on multiple occasions, and my grandfather would spend time in the New Haven shops and various yards as a kid when he would visit his uncle. He too has photos in the cab of some of these and of many other locomotives when he was a child. He would take the train from Nashua New Hampshire, and exchange to go to New Haven Connecticut.

The two missing cars were involved in a wreck (I think sometime in the 1960’s?), and damaged beyond repair; they were subsequently scrapped. 😢

My special needs son thinks that Siemens, Progress Rail, or any other company that builds railroad equipment should build full size working replicas of RDC's with recycled ♻️ aluminum bodies and frames, Plexiglas or safety glass windows 🪟, Cummins, Caterpillar, or Genset diesel motors with mufflers and catalytic converters that run on biodiesel or renewable diesel, LED headlights, ditch lights, taillights, and strobe light, rechargeable batteries 🔋for the electrical systems, and Wi-Fi.

2627 was my employee number at my last job. There is some useless information for you. That center car was being run on MARC until they acquired new equipment. A 6-car train on RDC's is sort of pointless. Use a locomotive if your train is that long.
