It stinks that the market ignores one of the safest and historically treasured action styles. In the last two generations of CC guns, major companies like Sig, HK, FN, and Beretta just skipped DA/SA; leaving only Springfield with their lackluster XDE.

I just got the P30L the other day, the LEM version with the medium trigger. Night and day difference than the stock one I handled in the store and much different than the LEM trigger in my USP. The trigger has such a nice break and reset.

That's literally every manufacturer, other than some semi custom. Hk focuses on gov and mil contracts, with civi sales the second thought. They make their guns to go bang every time and survive the abuse that our most magnificent knuckle draggers can inflict, which they do quite well, not what the gun nut guy at the range needs in the latest tricked out bling. Two different markets. Kind of like 1911s. The originals were and still are considered some of the finest and most reliable combat pistols ever designed and manufactured for the purpose, while modern variations almost always need the attention of a knowledgeable Smith to be reliable and/or compete in gun gaming. Reason: 1911s are rarely considered for mil/gov contracts, so they're focused mostly on civi markets, where ultimate reliability isn't as big of an issue, but being super accurate or having bling is.

H&K pistols are the service pistols of German Army, Air Force and Navy and at least half of German Police authories - since decades. The civilian market is just not as relevant, especially here in Germany where the access to guns is very restricted.

They do not as the rear site is machined to the plate (though I guess a cover could be made for that), but the assumption is if you’re optioning the cut you intent to add a sight. You can order without the cut and add it at a later date if desired.

I have a P30L with the LEM already installed..not quite sure why anyone would want that trigger to be any lighter? Am I missing something here other than the reset? I have a few early USP's however that could use trigger work. I guess when it comes to my P30L I am just absolutely happy with the performance. With exception to the reset once again of course.

Photos for it leaked about a month ago. From what I read, they are still sending it to organizations in Germany for testing. If I had to guess, it would still be years out before coming to the US civilian market.

My favorite double/single hammer is the CZ P01, then the Beretta 92FS. But they're heavy, not a great edc. Germans are meticulous in their craftsmanship. I've never had the opportunity to try a P30, but it's on my bucket list. HK is a great brand.

Do you not know how to grip a pistol properly or do you have hobbit hands and can't get a good grip on it? If there's any gap between your index/thumb and the beaver tail then it'll make any gun feel snappy. If your hands are too small then try it with the smallest back strap that comes with it. I bought the VP9 as my first pistol because I actually thought it was the softest shooting compared to everything else I tried that I was interested in at the time.

I’m sure the LTT version is good, but the Lazy Wolf reduced reset package is second to none. Their P30 trigger reset is phenomenal, especially on the V1 LEM versions. Check out some video reviews and see for yourself. LTT does great Berettas, and imo should just stick to doing those.

P30 is not much more than a VP9 these days, can be had for 600-650. Try and find an LE package that comes with night sights and an extra mag for only 50 bucks more if you do.

I owned 2 p30's (9mm and a 40)and I didn't like how the loaded mags held the 4th or 5th round loose . Walking around sounded like I was trying to make noise (maracas mags.) The rep told me he could send new mags,but it's a known problem and nothing will change. I said sure it will and bought FN instead. Love hk, just don't know if I'll do pistol again in p30's.

I just pulled out my magazine from my VP9 and double checked it makes no noise at all, checked my spare mag its also good. I use federal HST 124 grain, what ammo were you using?

@@markserpa4511 Might be something they fixed with the 2020 update. They used have 15rd magazines, then they redesigned the follower, baseplate and spring, and now are 17rd capacity. My VP9 came with 15rders but as soon as they released the 17rd mags I bought a bunch of those, and then got mag conversion kits for my 2 original ones. Really not sure if they rattled in the old configuration. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Because that's not what their major customer base wants. Almost every hk model came about due to a gov/mil contract. The P in P30 stands for police. It was developed for a European police agency. We lowly civis are second thoughts.

Get a .40 and have it reamed to 10mm. I did mine myself, it's not difficult if you have a lathe age some machining knowledge. Just make sure you get a carbide reamer (I got a PCT), as the stock barrel is hardened and will ruin a hss reamer. A good pistol Smith should be able to do it for a couple hundred. And lightly used .40 USPs are cheap at the moment.

A class specifically on using this specific pistol? That is a sign of caution to me. I like H&K, but shooting then seem no different from others aside from minor comforts of frame. Also 2:45 it appears a quiet message is being said. Maybe, “don’t get this. Don’t get this.” Either way is the extra cash worth a slight improvement? As far as I can tell price of an Apex trigger in striker is still more cost effective of hammer trigger improvements.

I think it's time H&K gave the VP9 and the P30 a gen revision. Basically nothing needs to be changed in regards to the internals but both these guns are ass ugly, to the spiderman webbing pattern on the grip, to the excessively fat slide, the USP was the last line of decent looking handguns that H&K has made. They are what the VP9 and the P30 should look like.
