Excellent review. I enjoyed it. I work for New Holland and I helped build these balers. I most likely helped build this example right here. But I'm glad to see that farmers really appreciate our product. And explain the likes and needed improvements. We have now since moved on to a new model baler. With more options available for pickups. And many combinations with belts and rolls etc. It's bigger, faster, and produces more dense bales. Gone is the handy step to climb the balers though. But I will do my best to continue to build the best quality baler I can for you customers.

My Dad bought the 850 in 1976 as I recall. We had that baler until about 1985 when Dad got out of farming and it NEVER let us down. It was the old chain version. This is a great video and good to see NH still making a quality product. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the review! Because of the changes that NH has done I will be looking at them again the next time I trade. Have run three JDs since the last NH so am happy to see that NH has stepped up to the plate!!

Great review, almost makes me want to buy New Holland but I already have a John Deere. We never stop when going into a tying cycle, just pull out of the windrow and make a big circle and pull back in when the chamber is closed back up. This greatly reduces the hay buildup in the baler and the belts.

One bad feature of the newer NH balers is the gullwing style doors. They do not open near high enough. Looks fine on a level concrete floor but be very careful when in the field. If a wheel is in a slight hole & you open door one can recieve a nasty scalp wound by contacting the door with forehead . Two of my friends have had this happen.. i have used NH balers for near 30 yrs love them great machine aside from this feature.

Great review. Our mechanic runs all our monitors and harnesses from the battery. He feels that the cab plugins aren't wired heavy enough.

Great review I am wondering if you have ever done one on maintenance and operation of this bailer. I have recently taken Uber an operation and there is one on-site with no information to go along with it thank you

I have another video when I traded this one off, in it I explain what issues I had with this model. Other than the major break downs grease and inspect before operation. I would suggest you find an owners manual if you are unfamiliar with New Holland. They can be found on Ebay usually. Thanks and good luck making hay!

Why does the baler won't net wrap the bale and the slip clutch overheats?

How do you get the baler ready for winter?
@FrontPorchFarm Жыл бұрын
Blow it off, wash it if needed, run it to dry it off, grease and run more. Then fix anything needed and put in the shed.

What do u get for the silage special option?
@FrontPorchFarm2 жыл бұрын
The Silage Special option on the New Holland balers gets you endless belts, roll scrapers, a heavier pickup, and a disc on the chamber walls to keep the bales from sticking.

I see u talk about a 3 year warranty on belts. New Holland have a history of not honoring their warranty. I own nearly 30 pieces of New Holland Equipment and I'm changing to different brand after 20 years loyalty!!
@virenellis8 жыл бұрын
Mark your right. New Holland has had issues with its belts in the past. Especially with belt tracking causing excessive premature wear. Ever since NH switched from GoodYear rubber to who knows what company that saves them money. Customer have experienced these issues. I am very sorry you have experienced issues with warranty. Your patronage has provided for me and my family. I do not take that lightly. With that said we have made great improvements to our products including the belts. I personally do my best to my ability to produce quality work on the manufacturing floor. And all round balers and squares are made in New Holland, PA on one shift. So touch every new round baler going out. And I push for quality. We have a new brand manager for NH who really cares. His name is Bret Lieberman his title is VP of North America Manufacturing. He really cares and knows who I am. So look him up, send him an email. Address your concerns. I hope you'll stay with the product or come back.

For outer density control, what would be the best one or two cylinders ?
@FrontPorchFarm6 жыл бұрын
I think that would depend on the design on baler, The New Holland makes a soft core bale so the tension builds after the core is formed. Most of the dual cylinder balers are using the one for core formation and one for the rest of the bale.
@MrBoedigheimer11 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video. I don't see a lot of round bales in the Northwest, do you find them harder to sell compared to say a big square bale..?
@FrontPorchFarm10 жыл бұрын
Round bales may be a little harder to sell, but I can charge less because I don't have as much money invested in equipment and it can be better quality hay because I can bale with a little more moisture. It used to be that I couldn't get people to truck round bales 60mi. But over the last few years I have sent hay all over the state, because I can replace the quality of hay that is going to be exported, at a lower cost. Farmers have contracted to sell their hay and bought mine.

+Front Porch Farm so if you was to buy a new baler would it be new Hollands new Roll belt 450 same bale size just different model number
@danielthomason56854 жыл бұрын
You did a great job with the review and cideo. I must disagree completely, new Holland was once the best...since fiat took over they have been actively destroying the brand to push the foriegn stuff...id acoid anything case or new Holland unless you just want bad tech and headaches
@FrontPorchFarm4 жыл бұрын
If you are talking tractors I agree, I still like the red hay equipment though. Just traded this in on a new red baler.
