Good you caught those bales heating. Had a neighbor years ago who’s hay shed burnt down from hay being too wet.

We would chop first cut alfalfa, square bale second and third, and chop the fourth after the frost. I switched to a NH Processor baler for the fourth and wrapped the bales to avoid messing with the unloader or making short bags. Cows loved the stuff! Great video!

Great to see baling so close. Little early here, my ground is pretty wet. We ran a chain baler similar to that one and had great luck with it. Your pickup/feed system looks just like our RB450 belt baler.

I was told New Holland doesn't sell the air bags anymore, maybe that number will cross reference with one that will work. Thanks for the help.
@trinitydairy6 ай бұрын
The replacement bags I got were Goodyear ,and I think the ones on the baler were also, if you have the Goodyear part number, a place that handles truck suspension, should be able to find them.

What is the moisture level running? Also did you have any trouble shearing bolts on the driveline on the silage hay? I would think that would be more likely to shear vs dry hay.
@trinitydairy6 ай бұрын
I didn't check the moisture, but I would guess around 40%. Never had any trouble shearing the main pin.

I used to have 2 farmers that had chain New Hollands one was small pipe the other was large pipe. I used have to weld them together after they hit a rock and vibrate while baling.
@trinitydairy6 ай бұрын
If These pipes get bent at all, it will shear the main shear pin.
@jimvanderlinden72496 ай бұрын
I'm sure that happened, but they had extra pipe and replaced them so they could finish the job. One customer would do custom baling and make heavy bales. I even had to weld the round roller a few times in the bottom.
@trinitydairy6 ай бұрын
@jimvanderlinden7249 I always keep some spare pipes too, I've been able to straighten some of them, but some just get bent to bad. I've never had one break though.

How does the monitor work on your new Holland round baler I'm looking at one just like you have never did anything with round bales before
@trinitydairy6 ай бұрын
This one doesn't have a monitor, it has indicators on the front of the baler, and the twine is ran with the hydraulics.
@fullers19666 ай бұрын
@@trinitydairy I don't know nothing about round balers and I was watching a different video and there is like yours but it's electric he mentioned the hydraulic kind just wondering how yours worked because the one I'm looking at is hydraulic like yours it is really reasonable looks like it's in decent shape

When those baled heat up like that you readjust your method real quick or else you get burned literally. Hopefully all your hay doesn't see any rain.

Alan, what horsepower do you need to run that NH 853? Where can you get replacement air bags when they leak?
@trinitydairy6 ай бұрын
I would say at least 80hp to run that baler,I ran it with our 830 case, but it was a little underpowered. We had a machinery dealer that was able to get me the airbags but I don't remember the name of the place he ordered them from, I think it was a truck suspension place. I couldn't try to get ahold of him, he probably still has the contact.
@ronmetz91726 ай бұрын
Thanks Alan, appreciate the info. All the best to you and the family from Texas.
@trinitydairy6 ай бұрын
I tried calling that guy, but the number I have doesn't work anymore. I think when we pulled out our old airbags, they had a Goodyear part number on the end.
@stevecolwill56816 ай бұрын
Thank you for a great vid . Lovely to see the baler working . Do your tractors have hour clocks ? . Have they many hours on them .
@trinitydairy6 ай бұрын
I think only one has a working hour meter, but I would have to check it.
@MrGiantstpss6 ай бұрын
Your new rake probably moves slow because you use older tractors that have lower hydraulic pressure than the new stuff. We have a rotary rake that our case 400 won't even pick up we have to use a 930 to do it.
@trinitydairy6 ай бұрын
I think it's because it has small diameter hydraulic lines, our old rake is much heavier and it lifts it really well.
@johnplatt83696 ай бұрын
