I worked at a new holland dealership as a tech for 16 years and i to this day think that the Genesis is the best tractor ever built!

I had to be rescued by a Ford 8970 owned by a local estate back in 2001 after finding a wet spot in a stubble field where I was hauling the 4x4 round bales of straw with my Ford 7840 SLDP loader tractor and a 25 foot tandem axle bale trailer. The driver of the Ford 8970 easily pulled me out the wet patch and gave me the useful tip to park my trailer on a tramline when loading the next time I loaded up and to stay on the tramlines until I got to the gateway out the field as they were the firmest ground to be on and I never got stuck again following that tip. The Ford 8970, which was a large tractor then was replaced by an even arger TG 285. But my first run in the Ford 8970 has always left an impression and it sticks in my mind to this day.

I think tractors, or at least new holland, peaked with the genesis tractors, the farm i work for has an 8970 (a 1993, still says ford on it) and an 8360 (a 2wd which is apparently somewhat rare), both with around 10k hours with no overhauls or splits.

The Genesis is like the Boxcar Magnum and SoundGards. It is pretty much bulkdt proof and well thought of.

My Dad had two New Holland Tractors. TM165, and a TM115. From the early 2000s. I really liked Farming with those Tractors. Loved the super steer.

My father in law has a 8870. It pulls either his dmi field cultivator or his mcfarlane reel disk. Sometimes he runs the grain cart with it. In the summer it is used for mowing water ways and such.

Imagine being a NH dealer going from this, the peak of blue tractors, to having nothing, then being presented a blue Magnum with supersteer after a few years. I don’t think there were any of these that left Winnipeg with under 250hp at the shaft.

Love seeing a blue tractor. They used to be common as could be around here back when they were straight out Ford brand. Now, it is rare to see one. It's almost exclusively JD with a Case/IH every now and then. I happen to like seeing a mix of machinery from farm to farm, but those days here are gone for good sad to say. I miss seeing the orange tractors too.

I have a 8770. I pull my 16row caseih 1250 planter, krause disc and the J & m 620 grain cart. Also the genesis A tractors also had electric remotes. I always thought the A stood for automatic remotes.

Always wanted a Genesis but we had two ‘30 series Fords before Genesis was introduced and replaced them in 2009 with NH T7 series. I always considered the Genesis line to be the best tractors Ford/NH ever produced.

Why do you need so many reverse speeds???
@bigtractorpower8 күн бұрын
Vegetable harvesting. They will put a harvesting belt or platform on the 3pt hitch and slowing drive in reverse to keep up with people hand picking a crop.
@marcuslauver78668 күн бұрын
Because if you're farming with a New Holland , there'll just be a lot of reverses...

I think the Genesis tractors kinda scared Deere and CaseIH, a lot of other blue tractors popped up on farms that never ran blue before!
