Good stuff man. FYI - Those are not "striker plates." They're called "nail plates." Striker plates are what the bolt/latch of a door knob "strikes" as the door closes.

Great finds but how do we know the builders will correct the violations- we as homeowners wouldn’t know. Do we hire inspectors again for them to come out and inspect to ensure there all corrected? Do builders actually correct or just move on to save on materials and time? Thanks

6 Mil (plastic) bond breaker will help prevent corner pops at the corner of the foundation. This help prevent the brick from adhering to the concrete slab.

When you “call them out” do they have to fix it and prove they fix it? I feel like they can just hide a lot of this and never have to prove anything

We place the control of making the builder make the repairs in the buyers hands. Once repairs have been completed, the buyer hires use to go back out to verify repairs have been made that meet current building standards.

Don’t forget the fire caulk around the penetrations in the top plate. Joist hangers must have proper shear nailing if indicated on hanger. Don’t need to double an over-bored stud, a stud shoe is acceptable. Drain trap for bath tub can only be slip joint type fittings if an access panel is installed. Why do none of these videos ever show the garage door opening and describe the proper framing and anchoring for a portal frame opening?
