There are no BOPs at 20,000 ft water depths. The deepest wells drilled are just beyond 10,000 ft. (Maybe they are 20,000 psi BOPs, which certainly are expensive and huge beasts.)

There's a civic in the global time attack circuit that's putting out like 700hp and still fwd. I think it mostly comes down to available grip, downforce, and suspension tuning.

I'm not gonna lie: that silhouette is not half bad, but I'm really hoping that the buyout will allow Mitsubishi to make more than just hybrids and EVs. If they're sharing development costs (and probably, platforms) with Nissan and Renault, maybe they'll be willing to take some chances on more exciting vehicles. Maybe Nissan will even back out of the decision to turn the Z into a crossover, and we'll see a proper replacement sold as a Nissan, a Mitsubishi, and a Renault or Alpine. Ideally, we're talking about a shared platform with unique bodies (can you imagine a modern interpretation of the A110 with a Nismo powerplant?), but I don't think anyone would object to an arrangement like the Toyota/Subaru twins. Mitsubishi could revive the Starion or Lambda name for their version.

Hi FLD crew, i think 450-550 HP in a front wheel drive car is the sweet spot. With these amounts of power, you can put down power fairly well, the car can be a commute car, and you can have A LOT of fun!. Keep up the good work my friends!, and DEREK D, please do not take more days off.

There is always a way to balance a car to handle and I don't think fwd cars can ever have too much power with the right drive train and tire set up it can handle 500 or more.

350HP FWD makes sense with good street tires i think....anything over...and you'll be changing front tires often if u can't control yourself in first three gears...

It isn't how much horsepower a fwd car can handle, it's how much torque. Even with an lsd, 250-275lbft of torque is a LOT for the front wheels to handle.

Clous von Not really.... speaking of factory setup: I've driven dozens of different fwd cars and the only ones that have slight liftoff oversteer tend to be the french (renault, peugeot - curiously never drove a Citroen - Correction: Drive a C3, worst car ever). German (VAG), Opel, always underseeter, and do Corean (Kia, Hyundai), Ford tend to be neutral, as do Japanese (Honda, Suzuki,Mazda, Toyota), Honda tend to understeer more.

Stock Focus ST at 250 hp and 270 ft lbs is enough you need to be careful how and when you use it. Much more than that and your doing it wrong chances increase significantly.

FWD can make any power you can get out of then... take a look on civics vti from the 90's. stock make 160hp but a saw some making over 500hp with no problems on the front wheels

About the FWD light sports car... Maybe depends on the torque... Imagine some 340hp engine.. but "only" 350NM of torque.. must be a high reving engine... close to 7600 or so.

If it would equal pointless then the 0-60 times wouldnt be so low/fast. Rear and awd gives you better launch but front wheel gives you better gas mileage and control/precision on curvy backroads.

Maybe talking too much about hp/ps/cv/kw... We should talk more about the torque itself... FWD cars with more than 300lbft/400NM/40kgfm may be pointless... but they could rev to 8500 rpm making more than 350hp/355cv/270kw..

The Civic is no longer the fastest front wheel drive lap record holder, it was beaten by the 2017 Golf GTi which lapped at, 7min 49.21sec, beating the Civic time of, 7min 50.63sec.....
