The all new Honda Jazz, hybrid powered with 60+ mpg, prices start at around £19,000.
There are 3 trims to choose from and the Crosstar, it's versatile, practical and features Honda sensing safety suite, with all new looks, a new powertrain and of course magic seats, the new Jazz is fantastic.
The e: HEV system has been developed specifically for the Jazz and is made up of two high-energy-density electric motors (generator and impeller), a 1.5-liter i-VTEC petrol engine, a lithium-ion battery and a fixed transmission.
Its hybrid system offers CO2 emissions from 102 g / km (WLTP) and fuel consumption of 4.5 l / 100 km (WLTP)

Thanks for this guys. I've had three Jazzes, and have been waiting for this one, which I'll probably end up getting. The only thing I don't like is the smaller boot, but the batteries have to go somewhere.

Hey, a really nice review. I really like this car. It’s amazing how far they have come. You forgot to add a name for the 3rd presenter at the start :p. I would love to rent a car like this in Cyprus for the small village roads, and keeping my costs down.

Lol, you caught a glimpse of the mystery Jazz owner, a keen eye Matt, and then there’s Cabie too 😆 and yes a fab car the new Jazz, that sounds the ideal adventure.

I get 47-52mpg on city driving a Jazz GD1 (pump measurement ...59mpg at the gauge). 10mpg more don't sound much. The eco thing to do is drive it until its wheels fall off. Still, love the e:hev system as a simple mechanical design. Just make it a phev at the same pricepoint to justify a swap for us Jazz owners.
@PlanetautoUK

It’s possible to get more mpg, especially if you can get that, bravo. Hybrid tech will come fine in price, mind you it’s priced the same as the equivalent Toyota.

If you just drive it to the shops under 30mph... will it be fully electric? How far can you go on the battery?
@PlanetautoUK
@PlanetautoUK 3 жыл бұрын
It juggles between electric and petrol, meaning dependant on the battery charge it may, we can’t find a specific range as it will change to hybrid mode when needed, best bet try one.

When you accellerate, the noise of the petrol engine, increases a lot, but you do not get the speed it sounds, as of which speed it sounds that loud?
@PlanetautoUK

No the eCVT works well, if you floor it it’s noisy, if you accelerate progressively then it’s quite quick, thank you.

@@PlanetautoUK there is no any cvt or gearbox at all. electric motor drives front wheels. and engine directly couples to wheels at highway cruising speeds

The only way the battery recharge well is when drive downhill. Otherwise it never reloads entirely. And even after a 1000 meter mountain descent, the battery cant hold more than a few kilometers citydrive. It is normal ? It looks like a capacitor, not a lithium battery omg..

"It's self charging"... A horrible marketing term which manufacturers need to stop using, it charges by burning petrol. Having said that, it is a lovely little car. Scuppered only by the insane price.

It’s priced the same as the equivalent Toyota, the thing is hybrid tech is still at a premium, it will level out eventually.

This is more of a Honda promotion film than a critical review. I test drove a Jazz recently and I'd point out: The ride is strangely floaty at higher speeds. I ended up feeling car-sick, which is rare for me. Autocar comments on "heave and float" in their test (which I found after my drive). With dark-trimmed interiors the windscreen and quarter light pillars are trimmed in black, creating quite a stark effect - a distraction for the eye. (An owner might get used to this). The facia top is hard black plastic too. The boot itself isn't particularly large (much smaller than in a Polo or Clio). When all's said and done, a lot of people simply find it ugly

I had it flat out round the lakes throwing it into corners, I thought it felt well balanced the steering was a strange one, could have been a tad more responsive, but I couldn’t unsettle it- I like dark interiors, take the Golf GTE - yes for some reason they’re are some critical reviews, anything upto 70 it feels good, anything beyond not tested - try the Jimny at 70mph that’s floaty, thank you James for the feedback.

@@PlanetautoUK Thanks. I only drove it up to 60mph but it felt floaty even at town speeds to me. And I'm used to a Polo, which people say are softly sprung
