This is by far, waaaaaay better than anything on tv or in the news. They are all quite endearing and have already set up camp in my ❤. I have family out in Tey-haas, outside of Austin, my Mom, Dad, Sis, and neice. I have always loved horses, and have learned oodles. Yes, but I think it's best to keep Belle separated during these initial.few days. There could potentially be a lot more snarling and kicking if Buddy insisted that Ransom keeps his distance from 'his' girl, or if Ransom tried to keep coming 8n between Buddy and Belle. This way, they're gradually getting used to each other, a much gentler way of doing it.

I I’ve probably mentioned this, but my young dog died last February. He was only 4, but lymphoma doesn’t care. He really was something amazing. My other dog is a year younger, and had never lived with another dog. He did something I’ve heard of, but had never seen, he curled up and became very stiff. For 24 hours, that dog didn’t move. My husband had brought me a puppy when we discovered the cancer diagnosis in the dog that had passed. So, we each had this “obnoxious” puppy to deal with. Frankly, I’m pretty sure she saved us all. The mental stimulation each of these horses is get is real good. You seem to be benefiting too. It’s what Mr. T has taught us all.

Thank you for the update, Rick. My prediction is that Buddy would want to keep Belle as 'his' mare, and that gradually he'll realise that Ransom isn't a threat to him and would allow him slightly closer to her. If she was completely out of the picture (not that I would want that at all, because she was a little angel sent from above when Buddy needed her most), Buddy and Ransom would bond a lot quicker.

I just wanted to say: thank you for posting all this amazing information, especially working with a new horse. I never had one, but recently I got two small pet birds (zebra finches). They aren't trainable, but since they are also prey animals, I wanted to try approaching them as you do with horses, to at least make them less spooked by my presence and actions. I started using the pressure and release techniques (with a small exception, since birds are vocal, silence is scarier to them than noise; predators hunt silently). Because you focus on working with the animals using their natural instinct, and explaining how they view the world differently from humans, I found your materials very versatile. Just one week ago my birds would freak out when I wanted to cover their cage for the night, but through small steps, moving back and forth with progress, never forcing them, and observing their reactions just like you do, I can now easily cover them without causing a huge dangerous panic attack. So once again, thank you: keep it up, you never know whom you might help. :D

I was actually thinking that since Ransom arrived Buddy has been getting a TON of exercise even more so when Mr. T was around. It is so good to see Buddy and Ransom just chilling. And of course, with the 'female' in the mix, that has Buddy moving about even more because as you say Rick, he has to make sure that Ransom knows that Belle is HIS mare! LOL So much fun watching the three of them. With you explaining what is actually going on in their minds it is helpful because just looking out there most people would just see 3 horses grazing! So much actually going on! Great video and I don't think Buddy is the only one getting more active!
