Wes take that top cap you just chunked in the trash and take it apart to get the shim out between the bearings. Then when you really try to rebuild one next time you can use the shim to adjust the preload so the new bearings will work and not wipe out.

I am not a hay farmer nor even a farmer...but I grew up in farm country and love to watch your videos so I can learn....damn I screwed up by choosing the city life....30 years too late to change now but you certainly bring back fond memories in every video....Thank you Wes! I wish I had the words to express how much your videos mean to me. I really miss the honesty of the people that tried to tell me what was what. Unfortunately I was too stupid to realize what they were telling me was the God's honest truth! I am now living the farmers life via your videos and wishing I made different choices in life while there was time to change it! Well instead of whinning about it, I will thank you for letting me live the farmers lifestyle via your videos. Oh one more thing, Damn would give my left nut to have guns like you have!...😩...lol I hope you have a Awesome day and even a better season!!!!

Thanks for sharing and showing us the different hub designs !! Good luck with your hay, this season !!
@mikegoodman4476 жыл бұрын
The ShockPro hub can be ordered as a complete kit, It will include the little splined hub where the seal rides. The kit is for 2 assemblies. P/N 87602273 Cost $131.00. Assembly should be torqued in as the sandwiched spline hub carries some of the torque. If you over torque the drive nut the hub will not shear when it needs to. Kit you showed is for the repair of a sheared hub. It only has the shear hub in it and not the little splined hub spacer.

It's nice of Tim to help keep Wes active with videos and the hay. All kids should take care of their parents as they age into their senior years. :-)

Hey wes .. wanted to let you know . Tire Ject works . Have a old john deer tractor with leaking tubeless tires . Put one container in each side one month ago. Moved it back and forth once a day for three days then it set for 27 days. Tire pressure is right on 18 lbs just where I set it. I did this on your shot gun video Thank you.

Napa filters are fine for older equipment but on the newer John Deere equipment you really should only use oem filters. I used to work for a John Deere dealership and people were actually having problems because of the aftermarket filters.
@chevyon37s6 жыл бұрын
People complain about using NAPA filters?! They're usually a Wix filter! Top of the line!

Wes, this is a little off-topic, but how do you check the moisture of your bales? I remember how we used to check hardwood lumber when it was in the kiln, curious if it's a similar tool? Thanks, love your channel. Hi Tim!

The previous discbine NH made was much much worse. The gearbox's was shared. Loose one gear and its pieces would spread to all the gears becoming a costly nightmare.

Well,if you want to improve machine durability,this video will set the record straight. (I use Amsoil filters Wes,they are not made of paper like the Napa filters,they use glass cellulose blend media,which is the same that is used in dialysis machines and filter down to 1 micron)
@joshcrd79256 жыл бұрын
Just like a Wix XP filter then. Not sure if Napa has a version of them or not.
@4gauge106 жыл бұрын
JoshCRD I handle Wix filters and no they use regular paper in them.Its a"ok"filter,nothing like the Amsoil filter though,the ONLY other filter like the Amsoil in terms of quality is the Richrdson Mil.spec,I handle those too,its a outstanding filter that our military uses that a cilivan can buy.

If you had the old hub would it work to grind off most of the teeth with a dremel or die grinder. Just a thought it could save some money.
@mikegoodman4476 жыл бұрын
Good Idea but they made it where you can't do it feasibly. You would have to machine the surface down for the washers and remove the splines. The little seal hub he showed carries a lot of the torque, not just the hub splines. Still good idea anyway.
