I doubt Disney would ever want to buy Hunger Games. It’s not Marvel or Star Wars where they can have action movies and still have it be family friendly. There’s no way they can do it in that similar vein or do what they did with Hunchback of Notre Dame, there’s a reason why that movie’s live action remake is taking forever to go into fruition. Even with franchises like Avatar and Deadpool it is already pushing it. The only reason why those still work is Deadpool being Marvel and Avatar is just Pocahontas in space. But I doubt they would cut down on what made the movies work and try to get them to fit under the brand. For Avatar having it in the theme parks and still working with James Cameron for the sequels, for Deadpool having him in the MCU is the most it can do for these franchises. Even then, for Deadpool they are so going to make him pg13 if they add in the upcoming Avengers movies, to not ruin it the toy sales and make the movie aimed at adults. But I don’t see how the Hunger Games could have the same luxury unless they either somehow make it kid friendly or are willing to throw their reputation out the window or they will just have it on the back burner and never do anything with it outside of merchandise or whatever Lionsgate is doing when they are not making movies.

We might get more details on how Haymitch did in training and other stuff that wasn’t mention in Catching Fire (the book) Plus there is still the question of what the capitol did for mentors for district 12 from the 11th to 50th Hunger Games since Lucy obviously couldn’t have mentored district 12 tributes. Did they just pick a graduating student like they did for the 10th hunger games? Or did District 12 had to go 40 years without a mentor?

I saw someone mention seeing katniss’s mother as a young girl and that made me think about how amazing it would be if it were a dual POV with Haymitch and Maysilee. Obviously Maysilee will pass and all but I think it would be such a nice touch especially considering Maysilee is from the richer part of district 12, with Haymitch being from the poorer side, so we would get to know more about how life differs between the two, maybe after Maysilee dies it switches over to fully Haymitch. All in all, I am so SO excited for more Haymitch content, as he has been my favorite character in the franchise for a while now.

YAY MORE!!! I had an idea for a book about Cato and Clove... A book about the 74th careers. There's so many like, subtle layers of insecurity, ego, and rage to him. Plus there is his interesting subtle dynamic with Clove. Like in the movies, it's a subtle original detail they added, where the knife Clove holds to Katniss's neck is the very one Rue stole to make Cato flip out in the training room. It would show Cato being brought up ruthlessly trained, struggling with worry about not being chosen (like the tributes from 1,2, &4 get), the pressure filled environment 2 must've been to get Cato excited to kill people, the back and forth struggles of his conscious and fear, and the cocky aggressive mask he hides it under. We could explore the rage and anxiety he must've felt when the star-crossed lovers from nowhere 12 stole his spotlight. Maybe he didn't start wanting to kill people, but he was manipulated by some brooding past victor to feel that fake sense of honor. His monologue on top of the cornucopia was so broken and tragic I want to know more. I would call it "The Table of Wolves" named after an imagined table where all the old district 2 winners gather, in order to choose the tribute that most pleases them. Like the game makers with their scoring. Cato has a lot of alpha energy, the career pack acts like wolves, and it would make Cato's end an ironic symbol. There's so much we could explore with the dynamics of the careers, the career district's history & relationships, and the games from the perspectives of those who want to be there. I'm just dreaming Suzan Collins would shoot me an email lol

The "real or not real" could be a really interesting concept to explore in Haymitch's arena. The way everything is discribed as being almost idylic and you might not realise it kills you until it is too late. I'm also curious about the mentor situation with Haymitch, Maysilee and their fellow tributes. As far as we know Lucy Grey is the only previous District 12 victor. How would the Capitol handle that? And I'm especially looking forward to seeing Haymitch and Maysilee's dynamic. They trusted each other, Katniss pretty explicitly draws paralells between them and our starcrossed lovers, he runs for her after their alliance is broken, he stayed with her as she died. He clearly cared. Could she be his girl the Capitol killed (just not in the way Katniss assumes)? That would be pretty interesting to explore with the Seam and Merchant section dynamic - a way that could be used to explore propaganda within the districts. (Katniss and Peeta don't really count on that front since they barely interacted before their games and their time in the arena permanently shaped their dynamic.) From the way Katniss' parents couldn't live in the merchant section after their marriage or Peeta's mother chases off a starfing Katniss from the trash cans, there seems to be some kind of prejudice going on. God the possibilities are endless 😍

Honestly, I wish Suzanne Collins would’ve continued with this idea after Mocking Jay. When Songbirds & Snakes came out, I thought to myself, “really? A prequel about President Snow of all people?”. Nevertheless, Suzanne Collins is a genius and The Hunger Games is not like any other franchise. They don’t regurgitate the same things over and over like other franchises.

If they're going with the book-canon narrative, we should also see a middle-aged Tigris. Katniss remembers seeing Tigris as a stylist for the Games when she was a little girl, before she was booted for getting too much cosmetic enhancement. If that's the case, Tigris should definitely still be working on the 50th Games, and she should look pretty "tiger-ish" at this point. They could give Hunter Schafer a bunch of prosthetics, or they could pick an older actor, since Tigris at this point would be in her 50s

She finally made the right choice and listened to her fans, all of which have been asking for Haymich’s Hunger Games. There’s even a fanmade short film about it.

Hey Movieflame, did lionsgate ever remove that copyright strike from this video?

I’m super hyped for the book but also the film, as I’ve been waiting to see Haymitch’s games ever since they cut the highlights from Catching Fire, which they actually watch in the book but not the film. This’ll be so cool, I can’t wait! Always love some new hunger games content :)

Ohh, God! I've always wanted Suzanne Collins to write a book about the 50th edition of The Hunger Games, but I never thought it would happen. But now... I can't wait!!! Thank you, thank you so much for telling us this information! I'll share this video to my best friend.

If they make the movie on this new book, they should get Kiefer Sutherland to portray President Snow. It would be perfect!

Overall I am quite excited what Suzanne Collins does with this new book, because I love this franchise with all my heart. On the other hand I am also quite scared that this will be more of a cashgrab especially because the movie was announced so shortly after... I am not sure what to think about it but we will see.

So happy to finally get more of Haymitch’s games! He’s always been my favorite character in the series and I was so bummed they didn’t show his games in the movie like they did in the book.

It’s a shame there won’t be chapter dedicated to Johanna’s, Finnicks and maybe even Annie’s or Mags’s but I’m still really excited
