I bought a razor huntsman mini… it was too “mushy”, returned it and got this one…and it is awesome! The on board profiles makes using it with multiple machines without installing software a sinch

Does the software allow you to program another FN key on the left side of the keyboard, and make alternative arrow keys for navigating? Also, does the software allow you to disable the MENU key?

Loved the review. Just on the market rn. Would you prefer this keyboard or the Razer ornata Chroma v2 mecha membrane. Just FYI I will use my keyboard more to type and do homework than gaming. Thanks

I think this would be the better board, but if you are using it more for typing and homework than gaming, the size of the Razer might be better for you. If you won’t be needing the num pad, delete, page up/down, or function row keys often (or just want to clear up deskspace) then I would get this. Otherwise for convenience you may consider the Ornata Chroma V2.

Wow great video you gave so much detail. I am in between this one and tkl version. Like this one since it is so compact since I am not at home all the time, it can fit into my backpack so easy. On the other hand I am using function keys and arrow keys all the time and tkl is waay cheaper than the compact one where I am living. Can't decide.

Would you go for a Hyper X Alloy Core Origins 60 or the Ducky Mecha Mini v2?

That’s tough. I think I might give a slight edge to the Origins 60 though. Very similar build quality and sound profile/typing feel. Stabs are a bit better in my Origins and it’s $30 cheaper. Only thing to keep in mind though is the Origins is only available with their in-house switches (which are pretty good tbh) and a smaller selection. The Ducky is available with a much wider range of quality switches. Toss-up but if you don’t need a specific switch and want to save a bit of cash grab the Origins 60. You likely won’t be disappointed with either one though.

For me, even when saving the settings to the keyboard it always use the one on the screen, the FN + F1,F2 or F3 it seems to change but the setting is always the same one. Update: You have to exit the HyperX Ngenuity and have the application closed and not on the taskbar running as a process.

Nice video! But i have a question: i have a mac and the foftware for this keyboard isn't available, so if i use the software on a windows for changing the color for example, and after i connect the keyboard on the mac, does the changes remain or not?

It should. I don't have a Mac to test on, however if you save the lighting profiles from a Windows PC, and then move it to a different PC or even a console, those lighting settings will be applied when you plug it in thanks to the onboard memory. I can't imagine it would be any different with a Mac, but I can't say 100% for sure.

I have this keyboard. I like it. Did not dl the software yet. Now I know how to use it thanks. Any problems with the software? I didn't try it because I saw bad reviews (I heard it was a windows store dl so I went there). People said save your colors you want to the 3 presets and delete the program.

I didn’t have any issues with the software at all, but can’t speak for everyone. My only complaint would be that there aren’t that many RGB mode presets. Maybe try the download link in this video description rather than Microsoft store.

I would say if you are looking to save some money and/or you need the extra arrow/functionality keys get the TKL, but the Origins 60 is the better board. Also more compact and has better keycaps. If you don't think you will use the arrow keys much get the Origins 60. Great board for $100

I am a nerd and use keyboard and mouse on ps4 , I was wondering if I can still change the color on the keyboard even with a ps4.

Not technically. There are no dedicated RGB function keys on the board other than brightness. However, you can do a workaround or two if you have access to a PC. If you hookup to a PC then download the software, you can change the RGB on the keyboard (make sure to save to keyboard). Then, once hooked up to console it "should" keep the same RGB mode. Also, since the keyboard has onboard memory with 3 different profiles, you can save a different RGB mode to each of the 3 profiles. That way, if you are connected to console you can change between the 3 profiles (Fn + J, K, or L) and be able to switch between 3 different RGB functions that way.

Just bought the HyperX Alloy Origins 60, got it out of the box, plugged it in and noticed in League of legends that it does not register some pulsations, it takes 5-6 times for you to press to actually make the action happen, and i dont know if it is a warranty issue, or maybe some specific setting im not turning on but i need help. I downloaded the nGenuity software but it didnt help. Already tried changing port, and restoring it to factory preset LOL players know how bad this is, i went from the laptop keyboard to this thinking it would help but im starting to regret it.. PLS HELP

I've gotten a 60% keyboard and the functioning was terrible. i have never went back to 60% keyboards, but i was wondering if u wanna use arrow keys and etc, is it hard to use to function things since its a 60%?

To use the arrow keys you just hold down "Fn" and hit the corresponding arrow key. It works well if you just use the arrow keys every now and then, but if you use the arrow keys a LOT it can be a nuisance. Not difficult at all but if you use those function keys a lot go for a 65% or TKL.

Sorry for the late reply. You likely have "Game Mode" on. Go into the software and on the top right you will see the "Game Mode" tab. Turn it off. Game Mode is designed so that while you are playing a game you don't accidentally hit the Windows key and tab out in the middle of a firefight or something. Turn that off and you should be good to go.

Both are great but I feel personally this is the better buy. This has an aluminum frame and the switches sound better. Just my opinion, can’t go wrong with either though.

It depends on the prices of comparable boards in your country. An alternative to this would be something like the Ducky One 2 Mecha Mini. In my country the Ducky is about $30 more than this. I can't speak for your market, but if the markup is similar then this is still a great option for that price.

Is it loud? Like if I were to record a video would the sound be picked up

It's average for a mechanical switch. It isn't overly loud like a clicky Blue switch, but isn't as quiet as the silent variants out there. It sounds very much like a Cherry MX Red switch...which is average. It all depends on your recording setup though. If you have any kind of noise gate or background noise suppression running, it likely won't be picked up. If you are running a sensitive mic with no filters it may be picked up, but no more than your "average" keyboard I would say.

I would put theK65 last for sure. If software is important to you get the HyperX Alloy. If you don't do much with Macros or change up your LED settings much and want a more mainstream switch, get the Ducky Mecha. The HyperX Alloy is the better value there (and the software is nice), but the Ducky Mecha Mini is going to give you a much wider range of switch types (but lacks software at the moment). Both have very similar build quality and both give you nice keycaps and have their own variations of that "custom" spacebar.
