I want to offer my deepest respect to Haley, Shane, Angel, and Leland on Indigenous People's Day from my home state of Massachusetts, home of the Wampanoag and the great Chief Massasoit, who brokered peace with the settlers who arrived in Plymouth. It is a holiday here, and most businesses closed. Would love to see a remake of "The Horse Whisperer" starring these incredible gentlers. Shout-outs to Keith for being indispensable and to Maisie for the great video and narration.

Want to give a big shout out to Keith. After watching almost all episodes of HorsePlus over the years, Keith has been involved in solving so many issues. He is multi-talented and hard working. Don't know what y'all would have done without his expertise! Kudos to both Keith and Angela (who has kept the office running smoothly).

Thank you to all the Navajo horse gentler’s. It is so nice to see how they spiritually look at the horses you get that need the healing from their past. It’s a gift. The word breaking horses is a past attitude. Horses have such blessed souls they need to remember that. Your new video girl is fantastic she’s doing a great job. Congratulations to you all for the dedication you put in each day. Plus the veterinary ladies you are remarkable your love of your work you do and the animals know it.Priceless.👍

It's distressing to me that someone would surrender 8 horses in such obvious distress and not have at least one of them vetted to have a clue as to the .medical issues they may have! Human to animal transmission is no joke. I'm glad you contacted authorities. This is why laws need to change and be enforced. I'm so glad you caught it right away!
@PurdueAlum013 күн бұрын
I'm not sure they will get into what went on with the previous owners because these particular horses came from Jason and Tawnee transporting the horses from that Yellowstone celebrity's facility, or nearby, directly to be brought to the horse gentling program. I'm sure because they know the source of the horses that they have informed them about the progress and the illnesses. Hopefully that facility will start with healthy horses if there are any further transfers. Although going from state to state, they would have had to have vetting before that. I don't know that we'll ever find out what exactly happened if it was just untimely vetting or insufficient or if anyone can tell when these wild ones got really sick, and when they got a human transferable disease. I feel like the game plan for now will be get them healthy and move forward with the gentling, but who knows they might give us updates If they somehow find the trail of where it came from or how it came about. Or maybe just what vetting was involved prior to transfer.
@rosewhite86472 күн бұрын
Thank you for the information PurdueAlum01. Coggins would have been necessary for transport. A very would have drawn the in blood. Perhaps the horses weren't exhibiting symptoms at that point. It's just frustrating that HPHS must now absorb the medical costs to rehab them and expose themselves to a dangerous disease.

Reminds me of the summer I did casual in the field "drive by brushings" with 40 wild mustangs. By the end of the summer all but 7 would fight for their chance to be brushed, and I do mean FIGHT over me. I'd have to quickly back away or I'd been in the middle of a war zone. I never pushed any of them ever, it took only a couple weeks for the first band if 3 horses to start walking towards me as soon as they saw my car pull down the long lane. (They climbed on my car over and over, so don't park your car near mustangs unless you want real life hoof indents on your hood!) No ropes, no pressure, no nothing and most of the bands within the herd became putty in my hands in no time, including picking up feet. However, the old boss mustang mare and her entire band never came close to me to even touch that summer.

could this be the reason: Diphtheria is a potentially fatal infectious disease and is particularly dangerous in regions where vaccination coverage is low. In the event of an infection, treatment has so far been with an antiserum, diphtheria antitoxin (DAT), which is produced in horses.21 Jan 2020 (wikipedia)
