They are amazing I absolutely love how they fly in 200 grain

Highly recommend Iron Will Broadheads. While they’re expensive, there worth it. Lifetime replacement also. I harvested a 10 pt and an 8 pt last Nov - Dec. The wound channel was significant.

My bows (strings/servings) put a couple degrees of left spin on bare shafts at 7-8 feet. Experimented with left/right vanes and if there was a measurable difference in accuracy it wasn't obvious. Just go with right since it doesn't loosen my points. Now a right-rotating single bevel broadhead does sound interesting.

I'm no engineer, but it seems like A: The broadhead bevel does not effect flight very much if at all, and B: On a single bevel head almost all of the rotation from the fletches stops on impact and then is driven solely by the Broadhead, especially in bone. The question for each hunter Is that is it worth buying a new set of expensive (but amazing) broadheads just to keep that small amount of energy loss? I personally think that if you can justify it go for it, but for most hunters buying an arrow that helps in overcoming impact paradox is slightly more important than left or right bevel. Fix that first then talk bevel.

Will the left bevel broadhead unscrew as it goes thru an animal or target ?

No

When installing your broadheads, put 1 layer of pipeing thread tape on the threads of the broadhead and you're set.

Most bows throw a left rotating arrow bc the strings are are twisted right.

I'm just starting to get into compound bow archery (I've been using a crossbow for years). With my crossbow I shoot expandable broadheads. What is the advantage of a single bevel vs. standard broadheads like a Montec G5?

There are many people who know far more about broadheads than I do, but I'll try to help. I think people like the durability of a single-bevel broadhead. It's all all a single piece. A standard broadhead (mechanical or fixed) with three or four blades won't be as durable in theory, but they give you more cutting surface with their extra blades. It's up to you to figure out which you prefer. But ultimately, if you hit the deer where you are supposed to, they will all work just fine.

Watch videos by ranch fairy, he will explain in great detail how much better single bevel is then anything else

Biggest thing is rotation.. Normal fix blade broadheads will spin like any arrow through the air. Once it hits its intended target it stops spinning an the kinetic energy drives it through an the cutting edge opens a wound channel. With a single bevel it never stops rotating so its spinning while going through an animal creating a big wound channel with less kinetic energy loss because it never had to stop spinning.

As a beginner archer I have a question. What is the difference between left vs right fletched? Is there any, or did they come up with this just for people who have a cheap fletching jig lol
@ArcheryTalkVideo2 жыл бұрын
I am not an expert on fletching, but I'll give you what little info I possess. Depending on which way your bow string is twisted your arrow will naturally come off of your bow rotating left or right. I believe the thinking is if you have a naturally left rotating arrow, you should have your fletching set up to accommodate for that so it's not fighting against the arrow at take off. Now Iron Will is giving you even more help by building broadheads are designed to rotate left or right.
@briantrimboli21922 жыл бұрын
The best way to figure this out would be to buy a cheap/sacrificial arrow, of the correct spine of course, that you can rip the fletchings off and take a sharpie draw a mark on the nock back up about 3 to 5 yards from your target, shoot it and see what way the arrow naturally rotates… then you know what way you need your fletchings need to go. There are a bunch of videos that go way more in depth than I just explained…

Right helical Fletching is for right wing feathers and left helical fletches for left wing feathers that's how it all started I've tried using left-wing feathers in a right helical Jig. Not pretty. The feather wants to fight itself. But if you're using vanes it shouldn't matter. The notion that single bevel broadheads rotate on impact is a farce when the broad head hits the animal it's not going to spin like a drill. It just goes straight in.

Not true, watch the Iron will single bevel broadhead video on KZbin the spin rate actually speeds up upon impact

It's the one with a thumbnail of a big deer that's blurry on the outside, you will be amazed that they do actually continue to spin
