The thing about the TJs breads, I’ve found that they go moldy very quickly, you’ll need to refrigerate it after a couple days to even get a week out of them.

I've honestly pretty much given up on their breads - they turn moldy almost overnight. I wish they would give us a choice and offer some breads that do implement preservatives and let us make the choice if we want to buy those or not. Personally, I would totally buy them.

Isn't it amazing when we miss a week of TJs?! Glad you're all back, safe and sound! We use tomato paste in tomato-based stews, soups, "Sunday Gravy," - virtually anything you want for a richer, deeper flavor. Enjoy!

Yes it’s tomato purée, you can use it to make your own homemade marinara sauce or add to other Italian dishes, it’s very versatile, use in soups or other dishes that request tomato purée. It’s actually an authentic Italian brand you can only find them at gourmet stores or Italian delicatessen stores or other specialty stores like Whole Foods. They’re typically more expensive at these other specialty stores, Trader Joe’s price is very reasonable, I hope they keep it as a regular item.

I always have to wait to watch your videos until I’m eating lol. Tomato purée is usually used as a base for sauces. I use it for homemade pasta sauce. Hope you had a fantastic vacation!

Tomato Puree is a little thicker than tomato sauce. It has a full bodied tomato flavor. is not sweet like ketchup. It can be used in a pasta sauce or in a pizza sauce, if you add some herbs or spices. It you prefer a little sweeter pasta sauce, add a little sugar or honey or agave syrup. Tomato puree has a perfect consistency for a good sauce.

Welcome back from your trip! I just got back from my trip to Seattle as well :-) in my case, I had nothing but seafood most of the time and it was so good we have the best seafood up there! Did you eat macarons in Paris? Ooooh! Tomato puree, or passata to Italians, is basically fresh, crushed tomatoes versus canned tomatoes, which are cooked during the canning process. It can be used anytime when canned tomatoes are used. In fact, it's a better option!🍅🍅🍅

Sounds like you had an amazing vacation ☺ You mentioned adding sparkling water to the lemonade - I feel like I've been sleeping on the cans of sparkling water Trader Joe's sells! Really good price, and I like adding them to Liquid I.V. to stay hydrated, especially in this heat! I've been using the sparkling strawberry juice, but that gets pricey if you want to have it daily. Very interested in trying that cold pressed watermelon juice! The tomato puree looks really good; I think I would use that as a base for a tomato sauce, but add in some herbs, garlic, etc.

Katie - Have you tried the Olive Fougasse bread from trader joes? It is DELICIOUS, especially if you warm it in the air fryer. (Might not be quite the same as a real French olive baguette, but its really good!) Also, I know you have been tried to recreate the dill pickle salad (when the TJs Dill pickle bagged salads aren't in season) = that refrigerated dill dressing with the pickle seasoning and the dill pickle potato chips makes a really close approximation of TJ's Dill Pickle bagged salad.

Spray the coop down every day, sometimes multiple times a day. They cool down by their feet. Frozen watermelon is also a great treat that they love.
