New Jeep Gladiator Had a Check Engine Light Come On!

My new Jeep Gladiator had a Check Engine Light come on! My biggest fear about owning a Jeep is reliability and issues. A couple of days ago a check engine light lit up my gauge cluster and my heart sank! Here's a look at what it was using a scan gauge. Ever had this happen?

I currently have this problem. Car started shaking for about a minute or so. Then the light stayed on.

Rob I’ve been a auto tech since we were called mechanics, about 37yrs in other words. A P0300 doesn’t set for no reason and clearing the code from the PCM won’t fix the problem. Your truck is under warranty and now that the code has been cleared so is the data that was stored in the freeze frame of the computer. This data is very important to the tech for diagnostics as a P0300 is very hard to diagnose with out it. That freeze frame data is what the engine computer was seeing at the time the code set, example rpms,speed, coolant temp etc. Never clear a code without diagnostics first.

My Rubi is back in the shop for this, dealer blamed bad gas and cleaned injectors and "new gas". Paid 300 for this and the check engine came back. It starts with auto start light being not available, then check engine stays on. Service advisor mentions engine replacement, but has to go through Chysler hoops to do anything with this issue. I offered buyback to them for r&d ... And give me the 300 back) We'll see and good luck to ya!

Rob.I purchased a 2020 jeep Gladiator after my husband died in February. I live on a large chunk of jungle and decided my toyota, camry that is 10 years old would be scary if alone and break down. I put 100 bucks down on Bronco thinking PERFECT!! STARTED thinking.Dump runs,feed bags for animals.Started seeing GLADIATOR JEEP here in Hawaii Island..Fell in love.Purchased last mknth.Engine light came on.Brought it in.1 week later on again.Very frustrated.Purchased this vehicle because I am afraid of breaking down. Today I waited 4 hrs. In mechanic area while they checked.Second time in.Could not find problem.Walked me over to Buget.Rented a vehicle. Tomorrow is Friday.Budget closed sat. And sunday.I have to pay for rental if they no find problem after cold start.I feel like crying.I was loving truck.So much beauty.top off. Now I am so worried.TOULA ALOHA

That’s too bad Linda. Unfortunately I am having he same issue. However, I think it’s more a software problem and don’t think the Gladdy will leave you stranded. Hopefully your shop will solve the issue🤔

It did this to me just know an all I have is 2026 Miles on it an chk engine light came on that unblevable a 22 Rubicon gladiator chk engine light came on would think at least 60 to 80 thousand miles it come on but at 2000 miles wtf.

I’ve had misfire codes in my F150 but don’t remember which codes it was. It would up being a bad spark plug

I had the same code on my brand new Gladiator and it went away as well after a couple of days. Then it reappeared and my local dealer had it in the shop for three weeks tracing demons and replaced essentially the entire top end of the motor to then find out the computer was simply bad and needed to be replaced. The code was fake/false all along. Just FYI in the event the code reappears.

Man, I went through some shit on my 2015 JK, cylinder misfire #5, take it in, they fix it, then i get one fore #6, take it in, they say its good, it was a rocker, when i put it in gear it shakes, get code again take it in, they have it over a week and then finally says FCA is approving cylinder head replacement. All of this time, never offered a loaner vehicle.

Hey Rob we need to get a coder thing too. What a surprise, A check engine light always makes you feel uneasy. But I’m glad for you it was only a glitch. It shouldn’t happen again, but things are being built record fast and sometimes get overlooked.
