"Hello Lee, informative vid from s. Milton by the looks of it! the magnetic filters look convenient and easy to use with just coloured filters! my favourite is the orange, for a good average contrast overall, and the red certainly makes the sky pop with heavy contrast, great. And it certainly shines in bringing out detail in the Post image. good to see you've repaired the c330, cheers," kev

@@kevmoiz1718 Thanks, yes down at Thurlestone, love it down there. The Mamiya is still working ok but I’m still waiting for the part 😬 hopefully should turn up next week.

The shot with pole and rope was lovely. Red filter really worked on that one. I tend to use square system too to get everything including b&w filters and grads. I find yellow very useful when there is blue sky. Orange and red are often too powerful unlike with overcast. It's nice to see new b&w filters. Some brands seem to get more and more rare and finding something like yellow green is not that easy unless one finds old stock Cokin Z or or whatever that fits square holders. Magnetic is a nice concept but when you need to screw on the holder, it is much less usefull. Great if shooting with one lens and changing filters perhaps.

@@hoggif Thanks, yeah the red is my go to filter love the way it increases contrast especially with HP5. I’m still unsure if I will buy them yet, they are very handy though especially for the Mamiya

Nice video Lee of you demonstrating the benefits of filters for B&W film and nice to see some new filters come on to the market, I don’t think they will be cheap though! There seems to be a resurgence in film photography from manufacturers at the moment given Pentax’s new film camera and now these new B&W filters; I wonder what will be next?
@LeePengellyPhotography2 ай бұрын
@@mike1902 Thanks Mike. Yes it’s great to see this resurgence, I’m hoping film manufacturers start releasing some more films too. I need to contact Kase to get a link and details of these which I will post on the community thread

Nice video, you could also hold the filter in front of your spot meter when metering to give more accurate results. Nice comparison tho

Really interesting to see the difference each filter creates. I like the Red the best too. The rope/post shot is lovely, with shallow depth of field. Must be awkward with both round and square systems. PS, Whats your take on buying expired slide film, if you dont know the storage of it from previous owners? Thank you.
@LeePengellyPhotography2 ай бұрын
@@grahamhutton3129 Thanks Graham. Yes, I think if I did t use grads it wouldn’t be too much of a isssue. I’ve not had any issues with expired slide film as yet, 2007 was the oldest. It’s pretty tough stuff as long as it’s been kept in its original packaging

Hi Lee, I have 2 sets of Kase magnetic filters that now fall off. I have produced videos, evidence and still they come up with excuses not to replace them The latest video they have asked for is for me to bang a lens on a table to demonstrate how hard it needs to be hit for them to fall off. After 8 months, it gets a bit tedious. Poor company, no customer service.
@LeePengellyPhotography2 ай бұрын
@@torealeyes Ah that’s a shame 😳 As I said in the video I use the 100mm slot in filters at present barring the polariser which I’ve had for quite a few years and never had a problem. Hope you get this rectified

@@LeePengellyPhotography It's with Trading Standards and Advertising Standards in the UK, like many of this type of company there have been many breeches of codes. All I wanated was my filters replaced and due to their actions many other people will be affected. But hopefully consumers will be better protected.

That’s what a matte box is for then. Now that I’ve slimmed my kit down I buy a filter for my largest lens and then a step down adapter. With a matte box you’ve got access to a world of filters.
