The Korg i series arrangers date back to the early 90s, before Apple made “i” everything. They were based on the 01/W’s synth engine.

Had the i4S gor a while. Wanted the i3 but was kinda hard to come by at the time.

I had a friend with an i2 and I had a Technics PR-270. We had so much fun jamming together back in the day. One of my current keyboards is the Korg PA700 and I LOVE it. The new i3 intrigues me and I could use it for band work and studio work. I especially love the addition of the 5-pin MIDI Out connection so it can talk with my other stage/studio keyboards. The XE20 looks cool too. It would have been even more of a winner if it too had the 5-Pin MIDI Out jack...

Keeping my fingers crossed for introduction of an Kawai ES9 so the ES8 will become cheaper
@keska015 жыл бұрын
Kawai also introduces the CA79 and CA99, it's already been communicated in Europe. Including Grand Feel III plus new 360 degree upgraded speaker system and a new upright piano design for the CA99. Wow curious to see the first reviews and eventually in 6 months or so be able to play the GF III action here in the USA.

I guess that Yamaha is going for a discount instrument to undercut the Nord Stage. Does it have a synth section at all? What's the list price on it?

It’s gonna be the most interesting NAMM in years, for sure. Korg’s certainly given Behringer some competition.

Hey Chuck, what is the cheapest keyboard that has USB audio in/out so I can play VST plugins on the keyboard speakers? I know the MODX can do this but it’s far from my price range. Thanks!
@Roboprogs5 жыл бұрын
Yamaha PSRs will. There is a 6 octave model for about $400 with dual quarter inch line outs. You should check how you like the key bed feel though.
@Roboprogs5 жыл бұрын
The current $200 (maybe even less?) Yammy PSR models also have class compliant USB audio, but the speakers are a bit weak, as well as missing pitch bend wheel and a few other features.
@bernardosilva73065 жыл бұрын
Roboprogs I thought that those just have USB audio output (for recording) but not input, am I wrong? I was looking for example the PSR-E463. Nowhere in the manual it’s clear that it can be used for audio input. Thanks!

Bernardo Silva it’s bidirectional. I’ve connected my iPad to one in the store and layered patches and effects from my tablet.

I sorta feel like the CP88/73 and the YC-61 are the full size versions of the Refaces people want. Maybe a new CS synth in the works? Watch out for Viscount! The modular side of this new stage piano is most intriguing.

troublesomecorsair - I could go for a YC-73 weighted.

can't wait to get hands on a yc

MX 49/61/88 would also be a good Reface alternative and it's much cheaper. It has the CP sounds and I believe the YC sounds and plenty more.
@Get_Yo_Life5 жыл бұрын
xp50player I agree. Yamaha should’ve given us two choices. The yc would be my bottom board within an aux setup. Great gig board but I wouldn’t use it as a top.

Could you tell me what kind of keyboard you have in front of you in this video? Is there a published list somewhere of the various new keyboards you just read out along with provided links to their websites so that we can examine them further? Please consider making a video on the different types of keybeds there are. I heard you mention a number of them in this video but I don't know the differences. Thank you.
