Randy Meisner! A quiet, soft spoken man, with an amazing range and solid bass playing abilities. Very underrated. Glenn and Don didn’t deserve him. They were brutal on him, as well as Felder later on. What a shame… and all for greed. It’s a “legacy” Henley carries to this day... I recently had a custom painted P bass built to replicate Randy’s original ‘59 P bass. I’m a diehard eagles fan, and have mastered most of their catalog over the last 2 years or so. Great song by the way!

As a child young child in the 70’s, I remember hearing this on the radio. Even as a kid, I connected with the story it told. Perhaps it wasn’t as big of hit as many other songs of theirs, but was and still is one of my personal favorites and takes me back to the wonderful memories I have as a kid in the 70’s. Beautifully played as always.

I've explored the idea of some sort of subscription based platform, but I don't have it in me to do that. With the KZbin blackout (or blockout) that happened last month I was just seeing if there was any interest in anyone owning my entire KZbin catalog. They could even start their own channel with it. I'm glad to hear that you found some of my videos helpful. I went to your channel and then your website and listened to one of your podcast episodes... the Weinermobile one, and was captivated. I have a VERY short attention span, 3 minutes is usually my max, but I listened to nearly the entire show and greatly enjoyed it. Great storytelling. My brother-in-law, who is 72, graduated from Syracuse. He went for communications. He never worked in a field where he utilized his degree (he retired from the post office a few years back), but he is a world class communicator... he never shuts up. Such a fabulous tune. The modulation from Emaj to the relative minor (C# min) is so perfect for the chorus, but then the modulation to G maj is again in minor thirds only up rather than the relative, then to ITS relative minor, Em, which then goes back to E maj? DAMN. Builds so perfectly. Just songwriting brilliance. Hope you enjoy it Marvine!

One quick comment. Lots of times we’d leave on a military transport flight. My buddy had is banjo and I my 6 string. Sometimes as we would be taxiing and our driver would be on his radio we’d start playing “I’ll fly away” the ATC’s would get a chuckle. It’d be a somewhat solemn time for us not knowing if or who’d not make it back. Ahh, the good ole days.! (1974-1986)

There were some years I attended 3 different schools. It was rough, but it did teach me that humor, especially the self-deprecating type, can help pave the way for friendships.

It's sad, because some of the Eagles lines are a clinic, but they get zapped before anyone can learn from them. Some of the nuances in "One of These Nights" are great, in my view.

Excellent cover! But I gotta ask... how did you get away without a copyright block or strike? I have had minimal luck doing Eagles covers to the point I just stopped doing them. Some lasted awhile but inevitably they would be blocked or stricken. What's your secret?

Thank you! I wrote a bit about it in the description beneath the video. I'm sure it will get taken down at some point. Hopefully, they'll just take it down and not give me a strike, but it's been a few years since I've gotten strike, so I'm alright with that.

@@TJH3113 You did I see. And a very detailed comment. I think I rushed to comment when I saw Eagles. I should have been more thorough before reaction. I just don't get the whole deal. I recently did a cover of Martha My Dear which immediately was blocked and so I disputed and it was up in 2 days. On the 30th day there was a message from KZbin that they decided it should still be blocked and so I deleted it. At least there wasn't a strike. All fun anyway but we don't want to lose the channels over something like that.

It has an active Spector HAZ preamp and active EMGs. The pickups are P/Js in soapbar cases that are in Spector positions. I'm not sure, but I may have switched out the P p/u for another J at the time I recorded this video. Next stop is to try a Double P.

So are the artists or the record companies afraid that people will listen to somebody doing an instrument cover of the song rather than pay to listen to the original? That seems laughably ridiculous unless they've heard your covers. It's like when people made bass enhanced versions of And Justice for All so you can actually hear the bass. Apparently your covers are so damn good that we might prefer them over the original. It's like they're giving you a compliment and a backhand all at once LOL
