You have to do a comparison of the Elantra and the new Civic when it goes on sail. The Elantra looked great and the Civic looks like it has a chance of actually taking the crown from the Elantra. Just a comparison I think is exciting.

This is what people said ten years ago. Now look at how far Kia/ Hyundai has come in recent years. It is true Hyundai is not more reliable than Toyota but they are more reliable than people still think. If not they won't dare to offer the 10 yr/ 100K miles warranty. Yes I drive a fully loaded 2015 Hyundai Sonata (Sport limited) that puts a fully loaded 2015 Camry into shame, especially the interior quality- design language and fit & finish. This is just my opinion. I respect your opinion.

@@braetonwilson4296 that is the problem with the dealerships, not the brand. I have heard similar stories with other brands even Toyota. Maybe, it is me having good luck with Hyundai and the dealerships I've been going to! Knocking on wood!! When I bought my car it was pre-owned with 23.5K miles therefore it was qualified for only 5 yrs/ 60K miles instead. My car needed two minor repairs which were covered under the warranty. Each repair was done by two different Hyundai dealerships in two different states of CA and AL. The repairs were honored- both parts and labor- no questions asked! Bently Hyundai in Northern AL is the best car dealer I have ever experienced. Their customer reviews won't lie- 4.8 stars! They make me feel like I want to buy only Hyundai in the future. I had a similar experience with a Hyundai dealer in Riverside, Southern CA where I lived before. Now I'm hesitant to buy a different brand because I'm afraid to deal with a dealer from another brand.

If I was in a position to buy a well out of warranty used car (7+ years) , I might consider Rav4. But if I'm buying or leasing new, then definitely Tucson all day. RAV4 feel like a economy car compared to Tucson.

Toyotas are great. I am a fan, but I bought 2 Hyundais the same day. Tucson and Santa Fe. 4 years ago and 0 problems. The Tucson was 3 years old, the Santa Fe was new. Gas, oil changes and just drive. My new Camry years ago had a few issues the first 2 years, but it also was a quality car. I would look at Hyundai /Genesis over every brand if they hit your price point. My brother has a Hyundai IONIC5 and his wife has a Genesis GV80. They love them. Why can’t America produce car’s this good? You know we can. We have the best technology in the world. Maybe Tesla is it. Wake up other brands. You are getting left behind.

@kev j you live in a parallel universe my friend. Because of people like you they keep their cars outdated and the same for several years. “They got nothing to worry about” yeah right, you literally get double the value with a Hyundai versus a Toyota yet people still hide behind the “reliability” bullshit which makes no sense since every single Hyundai comes with the 10 year 100k warranty, and anybody that can afford a new car is not going to keep a car more than 4 years. Drove both vehicles 2 weeks each to decide on ultimately purchasing one! Both were comfortable... However, the Tucson was more spacious, extremely quiet to drive, provided premium feeling in smoothness and safety!!! Not to mention the apparent beautiful look!!! The RAV4 was excessively loud, especially on the highway! It was as if a window was left opened. Felt the wind every time a truck would pass me by, imagine how it was driving it in a stormy day with high winds that Ontario just had last week! Also, felt more of the road surfaces too! Toronto and surrounding areas have loads of pot holes! Overall, decided on purchasing a Hyundai Tucson 2023! I cannot wait for it to arrive! Worth the wait! Current wait list 4 to 6 months! My family is a fan of Toyota. Unfortunately the quality is no longer there. Thank you Hyundai!!! You have come a long way! Great job! A convert over here!!! : )

Things I do not like about my 2022 Tucson. The exterior mirrors are not capable of being heated which should be a standard feature on vehicles sold in Canada, you shouldn’t have to up model to get this feature. The cover on the storage area between the front seats does not open to 90 degrees or beyond making it impossible to access the storage with your right arm if seated in the drivers seat. Hyundai does not support Sirius Radio. There are no control push buttons or knobs for selecting radio stations,it all has to be done by looking at the screen on the dash, meaning you have to take your eyes off of the road. There are two buttons for controlling volume. With a couple of options and tax the out the door cost was a bit over $43,400.00o. Other than the above it is a comfortable vehicle and it is not underpowered.

I think the Hyundai heated steering wheel goes all around, whereas Toyota heated steering wheel is only half baked, so I'd add 0.5 to the Tucson. The push button shifter is better because it's not in the way, and there are paddle shifters, so I'd say they're even there. Camera mirrors, including blind spot cameras don't always help people that use reading glasses which they can't wear while driving. As for reliability, Hyundai has shot up there a long time ago. Those who think they haven't are probably brand snobs that will never change.
