NEW King Cobra by Zoologist Fragrances Review

Have you already tried King Cobra? What do you think about it? And how do you feel about Zoologist brand?

I’m anxiously awaiting the release of full sized bottles of this! To my nose, it smells like incense and cumin, with the pleasant herbal profile of ‘ganja’ without any of the stink, which is a very nostalgic scent for me. It smells like Venice Beach in the 90s- incense hawkers butting up against spice vendors all with the faint aroma of weed in the air. It’s heady and strong at first, but dries down into a lovely intimate camphor/musk.

I asked victor and he said that the old packaging is starting to affect his eyesight and this new packaging can be done with a machine. I’m sad he is switching but totally understand. Now I’m buying as many of the old bottle scents (that I’ve wanted) before December.

It's interesting. Prin and "safe" are two words that are seldom heard together. 😆 He has so many releases and many that I've tried are.....well, trying. 😳 Thank you for the review Kate! I really want to get that Russian banya treatment! It's not available where I live. I also wouldn't mind a fragrance that carries the deep, warm, baked earth smell of a sauna.

I've tried a few from Zoologist but not found a love. This sounds like how I've felt about the others, interesting but perhaps not for me. Do you have a favourite from Zoologist? 🙂

Hi Kate. I like the original bottles, but I suppose nothing stays the same. Even Serge Lutens changed their labels a few years ago; I hope the design change doesn't start conspiracy theories about reformulation...lol I'm always interested in hearing about new Zoologists but have got some catching up to do as I've not tried anything since Chipmunk's release. The only Prin Lomas I've sampled is Salted Green Mango which I liked as it's not sickly mangoey. I wish Zoologist did 30 or 50ml bottles; I'd buy more bottles if they did

Hi Kathy, I absolutely agree with you about smaller bottles! I would love to buy them in 30ml, 70 is a little too much, especially with fragrances that are animalic or just have a lot of character

I thought the new bottles were a joke! Could not believe my eyes. For a brand where the concept carries just as much value if not more than the scent itself (because so many zoologist frags are quite challenging), I feel like they could have gone with a less drastic change.
