New Kirby 204811 Blue Bags Particle Tested | HEPA or Not?

The cheaper non-HEPA labeled bags are indeed H11 filter quality, so no real need to spend more for the green bags. And at $2 per bag (in a 6-pack), these bags are plenty cheap!

My Kirby Diamond Edition came with a brand new ‘Green’ hepa bag in it and a stiff oblique brushroll. We’ve tried it after we used a Shark couple times and the bag filled up over halfway full. I was thinking about trying out the blue bag next. But anyhow, there’s hardly any other vacuums out there that out cleans my new machine. Very Satisfied!

Although, it has some smell to it when I use it. Do Kirbys normally increase airflow as they have worse filtrations? Which I mean dirty air specifically?

Not sure what you mean, so I'll just throw this out there. Vacuums that use HEPA bags lose a little airflow as the bag fills. H11 HEPA filtration is excellent at all times. Your vacuum shouldn't smell unless you've picked up something very smelly.

Well alright. It’s because I normally thought that ‘Dirty Air’ meant for bad filtration but I guess I was wrong about it? And I thought I always heard people saying that dirty air vacuums have most airflow, so that’s why I was asking if they meant that vacuums that have worse filtrations add more airflow. But maybe I just misunderstood.

Dirty air means that dirty air flows through the fan (not motor). Clean air vacuums place the bag right before the fan (and motor).

@@VacLab I know but I'm speaking about uploading new ones Because I watched videos of refurbishments of the diamond edition and some others that you released for the last couple of years, I'm a big fan but I would be delightful if you would make videos of how I can fix my kirby at home

@@VacLab I would say they do, I guess it depends on how you make it, say like DonyBoy73 or Taryl Fixes All demonstrates how to fix gas fuelled power equipment. I guess the poster means step-by-step, which can take a while but if one is mechanically inclined, your videos are a snap. Of course, I can't get through all of your videos and not saying you don't have any step by step videos, I just can't remember seeing one. Besides, if he does a search, he can probably find a few, especially since the configuration for taking apart and putting together Kirby machines hasn't significantly changed over the last thirty or so years. Older models may be tricky but again, it shouldn't be hard to find videos like that. Also the wealth of knowledge on various forums over the years may be helpful too. I am trying to remember which vacuum cleaner sales website actually shows some repairs step by step...either goodvac.com or Great Vacs.

@@VacLab Yeah they do actually, I'm just haven't seen new kirby videos in a while but they sort of help I would be delightful if you will make a video about from where you buy replacement parts also for those who don't live in america because in ebay the delivery is so expensive and it's just not worth to buy the parts

Would you personally get bothered with a new style Diamond Edition outer bag with a black cord and black emptor on it? What’s your personal opinion about that new styling?

Don't care either way. Wouldn't pay more for new styling is most circumstances.

I will normally buy whatever is cheaper on Amazon lol. Usually the green Hepa ones are about the same or cheaper then the blue ones. Good to know the blue ones still filter very well.

It's been my experience that if it's a disposable cloth bag... it's going to filter well no matter what it says.... May I ask you a Kirby Question because I don't own any of them and have never used them..... When you use your particular Kirby.... does it keep all the dust/dirt vacuumed up in these bags? I mean, there's really no bag chamber it's just surrounded by cloth... do you feel like these bags keep the surrounding outer bag perfectly clean? Are they easy to change? Thanks

Nice, what is the rating when installed inside the cloth bag? Rainbow's HEPA is H13, so would the Kirby be a similar standard? Also, it appears that HEPA doesn't start at 11. This would be EPA (Efficient Particle Arrestor) down in the 11 range is E10, E11, E12 then goes to HEPA H13 to 14 then on to ULPA U15 through 17. ULPA standing for Ultra Low Penetration Air Filter or Ultra Low Particulate Air filters.

Is it worth giving away my current old style green bags (the ones that say allergen reduction but didn't do very well in the video with 5 Kirby bags compared) to convert to purely the new type blue or green bags or too small of a difference to really be worth it?

No, the difference will not be noticeable at all. Your normal air quality will be much worse than most bagged or bagless machines when running.
